I did not make any decisions regarding how good or bad the sprint races
were until we had had a few of them to see how things go.

    I don't like the idea.

Sprint races are for feeder series to weed out the slow and you don't
need them in F1 as the "slow" should already be weeded out.

    Cheers

They're definitely not making me excited. If anything, they diminish the excitement ahead of race day by playing out the first period of racing
    a day early.

I like having two race starts; as lap 1 invariably produces the most
excitement and interest. But that also means two chances for
random events to intervene in the sporting contest.

Obviously if weather conditions change between sprint day and race day
then they give us something different, but it feels to me that to make the sprint races interesting they need to add something different to the race
in terms of rules that makes the sprint a different viewing / spectator experience if they want to get some interest out of it.

But doing that without it turning into a gimmick that diminishes the F1 championship is the real challenge.

If F1 had a faired distribution of TV money all the teams would support them every weekend as the sprint race gets far more viewers than a practice session.
