    Ummmm...

Who was responsible for his "disaster Q3"; entirely, 100% responsible
(and responsible for ruining his teammates Q3 as well)?

Who was driving for his poor start?

    Right.

Norris get the more guts than brains award for staying out a lap to
long. And a major hat tip to Max for going from last to second.

Norris drove very, very well, and made one crucial mistake (although I
think his engineer should have insisted he come it). Given the
situation, not mirroring whatever Hamilton did was a huge error.

Verstappen drove from last place to the finish 2nd.

That is driver of the day to me.

How can you possibly use Hamilton's own screw-up on the start as a justification for making up a few places to get the win and ignore that Verstappen made up 18 places to finish second?

That's overly harsh - it was a team failure. They believed the rain was
going to hold steady, not get markedly worse, and apparently so advised
Norris, and on the basis of "current conditions are manageable" he
decided not to come in. Conversely, Hamilton was told to box, did not

That's overly harsh - it was a team failure.  They believed the

While those around him stopped for wet tyres, Norris took the bold,
but ultimately misguided, decision to stay out and nurse his McLaren
    over the line.
“No,” yelled Norris when race engineer Will Joseph asked for his
verdict over whether to take on the intermediate rubber.

    They've got a point...

...but I think it boils down to the officials thinking that not winning
    the race was penalty enough...

...and while Alfa the team might say that, I doubt that their drivers
    would actually share the sentiment.

You get the whole 'wrong-with-right-to-defend' wrong, sunshine.

You are allowed to be in the wrong place for going through a corner as
    fast as possible.

Every driver who has ever moved to the inside to defend has taken the
    wrong line for best speed.

The only time you can't do it is when an overtaking driver has
established himself in a position early enough that you're not allowed
to run him off the road.

That's what stewards said about Hamilton in Monza.

    advised
Norris, and on the basis of "current conditions are manageable" he >>>>>>> decided not to come in.

I must have picked it up wrong, I thought his engineer said to
    come in
    and he said NO!!!!

That was my impression too, but I only saw the edited highlights on
    C4.

"I made a decision just as much as the team. In fact it was more
they thought I should box and I decided to stay out. So, my decision
    – I thought it was the way to go."

While those around him stopped for wet tyres, Norris took the bold,
but ultimately misguided, decision to stay out and nurse his McLaren
    over the line.
“No,” yelled Norris when race engineer Will Joseph asked for his
verdict over whether to take on the intermediate rubber.

Not to mention that he unjustifiably escaped a penalty for a pit
lane infraction; a DOTD farce indeed. Not unlike so many others,
such as Ocon winning a race and his teammate Alonso getting DOT.

The sort of 'stewarding' situational logic that makes F1 a farce.

F1 itself is hardly a farce, although the stewarding
can be and the risible awarding of DOTD certainly is.

Um, DOTD is a 'popular vote' thing. Zero to do with the stewards if
    that's what you were inferring....
