• Max

From Sir Tim@21:1/5 to All on Mon Sep 13 12:22:03 2021
With 131 races and 16 wins under his belt surely no one can now deny that
Max is already one of the best drivers the sport has ever seen. However, if
he is to win the WDC on a regular basis he is going to have to remember the
old adage, “in order to finish first, first you must finish”

The Silverstone coming-together with Hamilton was probably more Lewis’s
fault than Max’s, whereas at Monza it was vice versa, but on both occasions Max could have remained in the race had he simply *backed off*. Lack of restraint is his only failing as far as I can see.

    True
Ham didn't have to cross the track and block a car at racing speed while
he left the pit lane at a much lower speed either.

Funny thing : both Ham and max are exactly the same, they don't care and
rather crash then give way to another.

    Not necessarily.

Look at the previous incident' that race, when VER drove an almost
identical defending line . HAM left the track and didn't attempt to
veer back on. Which is what VER dangerously did in the prang, and was
    punished for.

He didn't "block [] a car while he left the pit lane". He very clearly
didn't move left until after the line he was obliged to follow.

And when he did move left, he initially left Verstappen room.

That does argue that he knew Verstappen was there.

Funny thing : both Ham and max are exactly the same, they don't care and rather crash then give way to another.

    It was close.

I can accept the stewards reasons... ...but only just.

And frankly, it was the first incident that was far more egregious.

In the lap 1, turn 4 situation, Hamilton had CLEARLY gotten all the way alongside Verstappen, so there is simply no arguing that he should have
    been given room.

I suspect that Verstappen's penalty when the shoe was on the other foot
is in part because the stewards didn't penalize him for forcing Hamilton
off the track in the first incident.

Alan, please stop replying to this moron because when you do I get to see
