We already can't get a burrito for under 10$.

Then dems try to make what was my first job at age 16 pay enough for a family of four or at least that's their goal. In reality they'll just put more people out of jobs and in the streets.

Do you mean the minimum wage? You had a full-time job at 16? Yes, that
was meant to be enough to support a family. Had the original rate from
1968 kept pace with productivity growth it would be over $20/hr.

From the Republican Party Platform of 1968:

"We support an equitable minimum wage for American workers—one providing
fair wages without unduly increasing unemployment among those on the
lowest rung of the economic ladder—and will improve the Fair Labor
Standards Act, with its important protections for employees."

**Yeah, that's just more of your idiotic bullshit. McDonalds here in
Australia does just fine, clogging the arteries of Australia's stupid
and lazy. Wages for McDonalds workers must adhere to federal laws, which
ensure that the lowest paid workers can get by nicely without begging (I believe Americans call it: 'tipping').

The US has weird ideas when it comes to paying workers a fair day's pay.
I understand that, without begging (or 'tipping', as you idiots call
    it), many workers cannot survive.

We don't tip here in Australia. We're civilised.

Funny, I never got tipped at the golden arches walkup counter.
Drive through was not yet a thing. But I did get min wage.
Almost the entire night shift was part time high school kids.

McDonalds told him no. He needed 2 things.
A High School Diploma and bilingual.

No wonder kids are showing a lack of employability.

**No. I've eaten in McDonalds, only when there is no viable alternative. Fortunately, there are abundant alternatives today.

FWIW: Over here, Maccas (as we call it) released a range they called
'Create Your Taste'. One could select one's bun (I opted for the zero
sugar option), higher grade, low fat meat pattie, extra salads and, best
of all, a fabulous, capsicum sauce. Sadly, their french fries were
absolute crap, regardless. Obviously, I wouldn't THINK of putting their
'secret sauce', mayo or ketchup on my burger. The result was actually
pretty good. In their infinite wisdom, Maccas gradaully removed each
option, finally killing off all but their stupid sugary buns. First to
go was the excellent capsicum sauce. I haven't eaten there since.

    **I'm not surprised.

**I actually think that working in the service industry (I worked in the menswear department of a large department store, as a kid) is a bad
thing. It helps many kids with their communication skills.

My major point, which you ignored, was the fact that Aussie kids,
employed by Maccas, earn far more than US kids, yet Maccas manages to
    survive quite nicely.

Personally, I'd like to see a 'health tax' applied to Maccas and other
fast food joints, in order to pay for the clogged arteries, cancers and
early onset diabetes suffered by stupid, lazy Aussies. Much like the tax applied to tobacco products.

Just now you said I made it up! Pick a lane.

But you can eat herd food if you like.

Like burritos in general, a CalMex thing. It's all "herd food," cuisines
adapt to local tastes and ingredients.

No potato filler in any burrito ever passed my lips.
Maybe try some carne asada fries next time you're out: no tortilla or
    rice filler.

That's where they put the carne asada that can't last another minute in the warmer.

Yes, I'm sure that's how they allocate their supply.

"Is there a more San Diegan dish than carne asada fries?

San Diego is known for having an excellent and varied food scene.
However, one particularly beloved dish amongst San Diegans is the Carne
Asada Fries. This iconic dish is have everything a foodie could want!"

Maybe a Vallarta's Express is near you. Hit or miss according to Yelp
where the reviewers think $12 isn't too much for a carne asada burrito.

Yuck.... out here you can only get close to that price with only chicken.

Those San Diego places that feature them are dog restaurants?

A supposed Austin favorite....and a major artery clog.

Egg, potato and cheese on a grilled tortilla. Not so bad and no worse
than any other taco with meat and cheese for arteries.

Yes, they are a real Austin favorite, one shared in a friendly rivalry
    with San Antonio.

The migas breakfast taco is a local innovation.

OTOH, if your arteries can take it:
