Is it possible that Shmoo scottw is trying to be a muckraker?
The real ones, from a century ago, uncovered real crimes and
misdeeds and made them public. Their investigations motivated
governments to remedy harmful practices, enact safety laws,
and prosecute bad actors. In other words, as part of the Fourth
Estate, they augmented the reach of the Second Estate.
If Señor Shmoo imagines his efforts here to be part of the noble
tradition of muckraking, which entailed personal risk to the
earlier practitioners, he might also hope to be lauded as a hero.
