"The IRS did not audit Trump during his presidency's first 2 years,
Democrats say"
Typically gutless to add "Democrats say" to a statement of fact.
"The Committee expected that these mandatory audits were being conducted promptly and in accordance with IRS policies," Committee Chairman Rep. Richard Neal, D-Mass., said in a statement. "However, our review found
that under the prior administration, the program was dormant. We know
now, the first mandatory audit was opened two years into his presidency.
On the same day this Committee requested his returns."

and this has what to do with releasing his returns?
Nothing.
Congress can go after the IRS just like they should be on the ass of
the FBI....but they're do busy politiking.

and this has what to do with releasing his returns? It turns out he wasn't being audited as required by law. This leads to a public interest in his previous returns which had not been released as
had been the custom for previous Presidents.
Nothing.
It shows the legislative motivation. The committee has oversight over
the IRS.

Customs are not law and releasing the returns is blatant violation of
Trump's rights.
