• Y&R Anybody still here?

From Zob@21:1/5 to All on Wed Sep 16 00:41:37 2020
I just checked in with the newsgroup and the only posts I see are ads
for marijuana. I might need some to get through some of the current
    Y&R storylines.
Especially Adam, after we waded through the 3+ years that it took for
him to survive an explosion, lose his memory and then finally get back
with the love of his life Chelsea and his little boy. And now the
writers basically say, "Ha ha, just kidding. We're inventing an
idiotic storyline to split Adam and Chelsea up ." GRRRRRR. It's
almost enough to make me want to stop watching after being a loyal
    45-year Y&R fan.
Why, oh why, can't the writers give the fans some measure of
satisfaction and have supercouples face adversity together once in a
while instead of always breaking them up? IMO the viewers would be
more likely to regularly watch positive, emotionally satisfying
stories than these same old formulaic, ridiculously trite cheap
    storylines?

Still here! Not too impressed with Y&R, though. Again, they're starting a bunch of possible threads, following up on maybe one-and-a-half, and not holding my interest at all!

On CBS all-access, they're holding the 'classic' shows for 2 or 3 more days. I think I'll give up on the show after that.

But then, I've been saying that for years......

I'm still lurking and not watching.

I guess the suits shot themselves in the foot by showing
all of those classic episodes that allow viewers to compare
and contrast the quality of the show back then to what
    they're dishing out these days.

Nyssa, who figures when the best thing anyone can say about
the show is how nice Nikki's hair looks, that's a big clue
to the lack of quality elsewhere

I guess I should have waited a day or two before writing that. I spoke

Yes, on Sept 16, I felt the same way. But not now - OMG what the heck did the actress that plays Hillary and her sister do to get all this screen time rehashing and rewriting Hillary? And what have the viewers done to deserve all this ?

Probably a lot of the actors are social distancing.

I’m so disgusted with the way B&B is handling the “Steffy becomes a drug addict after one pill” storyline that I’m about ready to turn off my TV altogether. Between the current offerings on cable news and this, I think I might just read fiction
for the rest of my life.

Karen S., both a retired probation officer who has dealt with clients’ addiction issues and myself a long-term pain management patient who knows better than to buy this crap.

For all the "reality" TV that's pushed by the networks,
they can't seem to grasp using anything close to reality
in their scripted shows, can they.

If you need any recommendations for titles/authors, just
ask. That's what I've been filling my evenings (and some
afternoons) with instead of TV for the past few years.

I tend to mix fiction genres plus some non-fiction rather
than sticking to just one type of book, so maybe there's
something in my reading lists that will suit you.

Nyssa, who has only turned on her TV when NBC has a hockey
game for OTA viewing over the past couple of years, so has
a very long list of books-read to her credit

Exactly!!! She took ONE pill -- the same ones that her doctor had
prescribed her. This is so way overblown.
