I am never distressed to SEE new people on the show. What I'm
distressed about is seeing them take over the show, ignoring how veteran >actors might respond to them and how they might interact.

I can understand, Glenn, because I have watched different soaps over a
35 year period, and have been disappointed every time an old actor is crowded off the scene to make room for a new. Almost every 'old'
actor on a soap was at one time a 'new' actor, who crowded old an old
one. Can you imagine the population of Oakdale if every character was
still on the show? There have been many actors let go 'for storyline purposes' over the last 40+ years. I sure wish I could remember the
name of the actor who was my favorite 'Don Hughes"--he had bedroom
blue eyes. My mother was absolutely crushed when Penny's husband Jeff
was killed off, and I liked Tom's first wife Carol the most of his
loves. But, even though this is no endorsement of the practice, I
think actors will come and go, with little concern for the viewer's
    desire.

i dont think hal and julia should be together she is too young for him
and also jack and her make a really good couple i think
Agreed. Hal could be Julia's father.
