• Wow! I was wondering why the Brooks Brothers were missing from Louis's

From Zob@21:1/5 to All on Sun Oct 9 07:14:36 2016
It turns out they were suspended because one of the twins allegedly
kicked his girlfriend's face in. Not cool if it's true.

However, Josh vehemently denies it and he wasn't charged by police
    with anything.

The problem is, even if he's completely innocent, now that the idea
has been planted in the public's minds there's no way they can win.
Josh is only 17 and she says "he was abusive to her over their 4-year relationship? Since he was 13?" This doesn't smell right.

    http://www.dailymail.co.uk/tvshowbiz/article-3828673/X-Factor-finalists-Brooks-Way-suspended-live-shows-amid-claims-twin-Josh-attacked-girlfriend.html

X Factor singer Josh Brooks was suspended from the live show after
allegations he attacked his former girlfriend and broke her nose.

Amelia Clarke alleged the 17-year-old, who is part of Brooks Way with
twin Kyle, was abusive to her over their four-year relationship.

The 18-year-old claimed she was left with black eyes and had to call
    police on six occasions.

Josh, who was due to appear on Saturday night's live X Factor show,
    has strenuously denied the allegations.

Amelia told a friend: 'I was constantly lying about where my bruises
had come from. The worst time was last year,' the Sun on Sunday
    reported.
'He came to my house and because my parents had new white carpets
fitted I told him not to walk on them.
'He said the way that I spoke to him wasn't acceptable, knocked me
over and kicked me in the face so hard that my nose broke. I heard it
    click out.'
Josh is alleged to have attacked Amelia at a New Year's party. X
Factor bosses are now investigating the claims and that he sent
    threatening messages to her.
As the first live show of the series got underway in Wembley on
Saturday, host Dermot O'Leary said: 'Sadly, due to circumstances,
Brooks Way will not be appearing this evening.'

Police allowed Josh Brooks, whose parents battled heroin addiction, to
walk free after Amelia refused to press charges to the alleged
    assault.
She now claims Josh 'forced her to lie' in a bid to cover up for the
    attack.
Known as 'Milly', it's thought she met Josh while they both lived in
    Penarth, Wales.
Amelia, who now lives in New York, has posed dozens of pouting selfies
and snaps from nights outs on social media. According to her Facebook
account she works for Hollister Co.
Josh said the former St Cyres school pupil was 'knocked' while he was
in a fight with another male. Amelia was hurt when she intervened in
    the altercation, he said.

There needs to be an answer, and there needs to be an answer now.

If there's anything to this, disqualification is the only option. The producers have probably already tainted the show by not disqualifying the group in the first place, but they are checking it out.

Given I have read that the girl involved says it wasn't her that sold
the story and it wasn't quite like what was said ( or whatever) I think
it was fair for the producers to take time to get more information.
Latest reports are that they have been kicked out, but I doubt we will
    ever know the full story.

Poor Louis. Only two groups and one of them is a joke act.

Although I do believe he could still have the winning act.

It enables the mentor to concentrate on one act, and in this instance
Louis has one act which is, IMO, pretty good. I tend to think that the
judges choose an act they think could win, an act that might, if people
like them and all goes their way, and an act they can throw to the
wolves. Easy to tell who with the Bratavios and Honey Gs of this
competition, if not so much with the girls and boys who are all a matter
    of taste.

I said in a post the other day that I didn't have a favorite this
season. After watching the first live show I still don't, but I do
know which ones I *don't* want to win, lol. But as you say it's a
matter of personal taste with a healthy dose of under par performing
    compared to the rest.

One whom I don't want to see win is the Finnish girl Saara, who it
turns out is a professional singing competition contestant. Runner up
in The Voice in Finland, and twice runner-up in Eurovison? And this
was never mentioned in her X-Factor packages? Oh, please! Not to
mention her personality makes me nauseous. She has a great voice, but
it's not as good as SHE thinks it is.

Another who is a least favorite of mine (besides Honey G which is a
given), is Freddy Parker. Sure, he's a pretty boy and does have a
measure of talent, but IMO his singing skill just aren't up to the
level of many of the others in this, what I consider to be a rather
    strong XF season vocally.
I also don't care for Emily Middlemas, but that is entirely subjective
on my part; I just don't like her type of voice at all.

If I were to pick a handful of acts with real potential at this point
it would be 5 After Midnight, Gifty Louise, Relley C. and Matt Terry.
The rest are all pretty good, but those are the standouts for me. All
    purely IMO of course.

On a positive note, I want to add that the group song at the beginning
of Sunday's Results Show was great! The finalists all did an awesome
job with Fleur's "Play that Sax!" I loved it!

Aussie version pulled the same crap with their winner 2-3 years ago, a clear plant named Samantha Jade. How this is legal by any stretch of the situation is beyond any semblance of my understanding, because I would have to think, lacking a clear winner,
the show will try to "direct"/rig it that way.

    Mike

She is a far cry from the "undiscovered" amateur singers that X-Factor
would have us believe they are looking for. They've had many really
excellent singer win (and some not so excellent) who had no
professional experience aside from karaoke or small clubs, weddings,
etc. This is a whole different thing.

This is Saara Aalto's professional singing bio from Wikipedia:

"In 2007, she participated in Talent Suomi, coming in the top
    three.[3]

"She appeared in the Helsinki City Theater musical, Wicked, as
Dorothy, making her the only person to portray the character in any
    production of the musical.

"She decided to participate in the qualifying rounds to represent
Finland for Eurovision 2011, with "Blessed With Love". She reached the television qualifiers and placed second to Paradise Oskar, with the
song "Da Da Dam". In December 2011, Aalto was involved in Santa Claus
Season's Greetings Song Contest, singing the Chinese version of
"Blessed with Love" (Ai De Zhu Fu).

"She participated in the Voice of Finland 2012 with the coach, Michael
    Monroe, placing second.

"In 2016, Aalto competed in Uuden Musiikin Kilpailu with the song "No
Fear" in a bid to represent Finland at Eurovision Song Contest 2016.
    She placed second again.

"Currently, Aalto is competing on series thirteen of The X Factor UK,
where she is being mentored by Sharon Osbourne."

Probably because there is no British law saying people can't appear in
more than one talent show. What happens in Finland doesn't make anyone
know her here, and she never got to Eurovision proper. That said the
looks and sounds just like so many Eurovision proper entries that it's a
joke. Actually mr kat says she looks like a ( second rate, my addition
) porn star. Had she gone Sunday instead of Bratavio I wouldn't have
    minded one bit.

I do not like her. I wasn't in the least surprised she was in the sing
off because, however much Simon didn't want to hear "another boring
version" of Let It Go, the voting public is so familiar with the
original ( at least those of us with 5 year old daughters and
granddaughters) to either want to hear any version yet again, or, any
version too unlike the one they love.:-)

As I feel the X is the point ( in this competition ) and the "best"
singers don't always have it, I wouldn't agree that it matters if he
isn't as good a singer as the others. I think all the boys have
something good about them and it so happened I liked his performance the
best ( or at least the bit with the piano ) the best of them Saturday.

I also don't care for Emily Middlemas, but that is entirely subjective
on my part; I just don't like her type of voice at all.

Whereas she has the sort of voice I do like, but I didn't rate her much Saturday.

Aside from some people thinking that Matt is the Chosen One so I leave
him out of the assessment you have otherwise picked on the same 3 as I
did this weekend. And Matt I have liked too.
