Aka Anne E. Schraff, she was born in Cleveland, Ohio, she became a high school teacher and now lives in Spring Valley, California.

One of her more popular novels is "A Matter of Trust" (2002).

    About that one:

"In grade school, Darcy Wills and Brisana Meeks were friends. But all that changed at Bluford High when Darcy started hanging with "the zeros"--a group of students Brisana despises. Now the former friends are bitter rivals, and the tension between them
is getting worse. For a while, Darcy tries to stay calm, ignoring her old friend's daily taunts. But when she learns that Brisana is after her boyfriend, Hakeem Randall, Darcy knows she must do something. But what?"

More about the Bluford High series, written by multiple writers (2002-2016):

(She started the series and wrote five of the books. There are 16 others so far.)

    From Jacketflap:

...As a teenager, Schraff held a variety of jobs. She began as a papergirl, delivering a hundred Los Angeles Times every morning at four o’clock. She later became a waitress and a shrimp boat worker. Another job as a boysenberry picker taught Schraff
    sympathy for migrant workers.

But Schraff always wanted to be a writer and sold her first story, “Stage to Hell,” to a western magazine while she was a college freshman. She pretended to be a male by signing the story A. E. Schraff. The editor didn’t know the truth until he’d
bought a dozen of her stories. Since then she has sold hundreds of stories and more than eighty books including historical fiction, biographies, science books, and her favorite, fictional books for young people...
