An interesting claim I heard from another well known swing dance

I'm the one who started this sub-thread about when Hustle started. My
wife seems to remember dancing Hustle around 1977 here in Miami. She
wasn't one of the cutting edge disco dancers. It must have gone on a
little while before she started dancing it. We assumed it started in
NY, so 1974 sounded reasonable. I'll ask her about it after work.
Maybe we can get in touch with some of her old friends who danced more
than she did. We're familiar with the 3-count Hustle danced by Maria
Torres, Diane Nardone, Billy Fajardo, Barry Douglas etc. and recognize
it as resembling what the better dancers used to do in clubs.

Latin hustle was created in 1972, this is well documented in the Bronx.
