Quite possibly. I'm cross-posting and setting followups to there.

According to zfiles.z8, there is supposed to be a beta text editor
written in Inform called zedit.z5. But, no matter what time I try, I
can not connect to pcsw104b.ukc.ac.uk, the connection always times
out. I am wondering if there is either an alternative site to get
this file from or if someone can send me the file. Thank you very
    much.

Only a few days after I put the files up on pcsw104b, my university
went and installed a firewall. Therefore, the files are (ahem) no
    longer available from that machine...

However, the ZEdit web pages are still where they were originally:
    http://www.ukc.ac.uk/php/cpb4/zedit/

but they now point to the files as installed on a -world visible-
server... so visit the web pages and download from there. I'd have
hoped that no-one would have kept the URL of the zcode file itself,
only those of the web pages. But anyway...

I really ought to contact the author of zfiles.z8 (Gunther Schmidl) and
ask him to change the URL given to the one above, but I don't know his
email address. (He could have put it in the opening text of
    zfiles.z8...) Anyone?

Please reply to tb@earthling.net. Although I read the newsgroup

Okay, I'll mail this to you too.

    Hi Charles,

Your original post is, oh, only 20 years old(!) so I felt confident you would still get this message!

Ok - in all seriousness on the slim chance that you get this message, or possibly if some sympathetic soul reading this can help, then can you please reply back and advise if your ZEdit application for the Z Machine (z code) is still available somewhere?

Like the original poster here I saw ZEdit in the zfiles.z8 program, admittedly i'm a little slower to pick up the trail but as an eternal optimist I tried your URL links anyway; no surprise that they are no longer hosted on the Uni server.

Do you still have ZEdit anywhere? Could you post/provide a copy please?

    Thanks!

    Adam

    Hi Adam,

I think I've found a current email address. I'll send it over privately. Let me know how you get on :-)
