The Walt Disney Company and Disney+ announced they will be renewing The
Proud Family: Louder and Prouder for a second as the show finds itself in
the center of Disney’s “not-at-all-secret gay agenda.”

At the end of March, executive producer for Disney’s Television Animation Latoya Raveneau, who works on The Proud Family: Louder and Prouder series, admitted Disney fully embraced her “not-at-all-secret gay agenda.”

In a video obtained and shared to social media by journalist Christopher
    F. Rufo, Raveneau can be seen talking during The Walt Disney’s Company’s Reimagine Tomorrow video conference call.

In the video she says, “In my little pocket of Proud Family Disney TVA,
the showrunners were super welcoming. Meredith Roberts and our leadership
over there has been so welcoming to my not-at-all-secret gay agenda.”

She added, “Maybe it was that way in the past, but I guess something must
have happened in the last, they are turning it around, they’re going hard,
and then like all that momentum that I felt, that sense of ‘I don’t have
to be afraid to let’s have these two characters kiss in the background.’ I
was just, wherever I could, just basically adding queerness. If you see anything queer in the show — no one would stop me, and no one was trying
    to stop me.”

In another video shared to social media by Rufo, Raveneau stated, “I
identify as a biromantic asexual. I’ve had a lot of learning and growing
about myself this year, kind of facilitated by how comfortable I felt on
The Proud Family and with my immediate team at Disney TVA. And so it’s
just sort of like this creative dissonance between my personal experience, where I feel so safe and so supportive. I mean, I wasn’t in the closet,
    but I’m real out now.”

She continued, “Outside of my team, outside of TVA it feels like the
things that we believe that we’re trying to put into the shows are not
what we are seeing in the real world. It leaves you in a weird space.”

The clip then cuts to Raveneau saying, “I’m still thinking I want to use
my content to go deeper – talk about how non-monolithic the LGBTQ+
community as an asexual. As an asexual – I feel like a lot of people don’t
what that is. I have to have a dissertation ready at any given time.”

“I want to add the pockets of the LGBTQ community that you don’t see. I
want to get gay advanced. And then I realized, ‘Oh s***, we need to go
back to Gay 101,’” she declared.

In a press release Disney announced the show would be renewed for a second season ahead of season one’s finale on April 20th.

The press release states, “‘The Proud Family: Louder and Prouder’ is in production on a second season for Disney+.” Disney+ also noted the series
will see much of the cast returning to reprise their characters including
Kyla Pratt as Penny Proud; Tommy Davidson as Oscar Proud; Paula Jai Parker
as Trudy Proud; JoMarie Payton as Suga Mama; Cedric the Entertainer as
Uncle Bobby; Karen Malina White as Dijonay Jones, Soleil Moon Frye as Zoey Howzer; Alisa Reyes as LaCienega Boulevardez; Carlos Mencia as Felix Boulevardez; Maria Canals-Barrera as Sunset Boulevardez; Alvaro Gutierrez
as Papi; Raquel Lee Bolleau as Nubia Gross; and Marcus T. Paulk as Myron.”

They also revealed a number of recurring voices will return to the show
that include “Keke Palmer as Maya Leibowitz-Jenkins; Billy Porter and
Zachary Quinto as Randall and Barry Leibowitz-Jenkins; EJ Johnson as
Michael Collins; Asante Blackk as Kareem; Artist “A Boogie” Dubose as
Francis “KG” Leibowitz-Jenkins; Bresha Webb as CeCe; and Aiden Dodson as
    BeBe.”

Finally, they also revealed a number of individuals who will be making
    guest appearances on the show. These include, “Chance the Rapper;
Gabrielle Union (“L.A’s Finest”); singer and dancer Normani; Leslie Odom
Jr. (“Hamilton”); Anthony Anderson (“black-ish”); gymnasts Dominique
Dawes, Gabby Douglas and Laurie Hernandez; Jane Lynch (“Glee”); Holly
Robinson Peete (“21 Jump Street”); Maury Povich (“Maury”); Storm Reid (“Euphoria”); Courtney B. Vance (“Genius”); and Liana Mendoza (“Hey, Mr. Postman!”).”

The series is executive produced by the show’s creator Bruce W. Smith and
Ralph Farquhar. Calvin Brown Jr. is the co-executive producer and story
editor. Jan Hirota is a producer and Eastwood Wong is the art director.
The show’s directors include Latoya Raveneau, Rudi Bloss, and Tara Nicole Whitaker.

The show’s renewal refutes the idea that “Disney is throwing in the towel”
as posited by Kyle Smith in National Review. Instead, it appears Disney is doubling down on their “not-at-all-secret gay agenda” as they promised
    they would.

In fact, when initially facing outrage from individuals and organizations
like GLAAD opposed to Florida’s Parental Rights in Education bill that
prevents teaching of sexual orientation and gender ideology for students
in kindergarten through third grade, Disney and its CEO Bob Chapek
promised to ensure that type of teaching was done through their content.

The Walt Disney Company released a statement at the beginning of March
that read, “We understand how important this issue is to our LGBTQ+
employees and many others. For nearly a century, Disney has been a
unifying force that brings people together.”

“We are determined that it remains a place where everyone is treated with dignity and respect. The biggest impact we can have in creating a more inclusive world is through the inspiring we content produce, the welcoming culture we create here and the diverse community organizations we support, including those representing the LGBTQ+ community,” the statement
    concluded.

But Doesn’t Want It Become A “Political Football”

Chapek followed up that corporate statement with one of his own explaining
why the company was not publicly opposing the bill.

“As we have seen time and again, corporate statements do very little to
change outcomes or minds,” he explained. “Instead, they are often
weaponized by one side or the other to further divide and inflame. Simply
put, they can be counterproductive and undermine more effective ways to
    achieve change.”

He then added, “I do not want anyone to mistake a lack of a statement for
a lack of support. We all share the same goal of a more tolerant,
respectful world. Where we may differ is in the tactics to get there.”

He then declared, “And because this struggle is much bigger than any one
bill in any one state, I believe the best way for our company to bring
about lasting change is through the inspiring content we produce, the
welcoming culture we create, and the diverse community organizations we support.”

“There’s a reason content is at the top of this list. For nearly a
century, our company’s stories have opened minds, inspired dreams, shown
the world both as it is and how we wish it could be, and now more than
ever before, represent the incredible diversity of our society,” Chapek elaborated.

“We are telling important stories, raising voices, and I believe, changing hearts and minds,” he added.

In a company-wide email, Chapek then declared the company would not just
be trying to groom kids into these disordered lifestyles as part of their content, but they would also be actively opposing any legislation or legal action attempting to blunt its spread in the name of “human rights.”

Chapek wrote, “It is clear that this is not just an issue about a bill in Florida, but instead yet another challenge to basic human rights. You
needed me to be a stronger ally in the fight for equal rights and I let
    you down. I am sorry.”

Later in the email he declared, “Starting immediately, we are increasing
our support for advocacy groups to combat similar legislation in other
states. We are hard at work creating a new framework for our political
giving that will ensure our advocacy better reflects our values. And
today, we are pausing all political donations in the state of Florida
    pending this review.”

He would conclude the email writing, “I missed the mark in this case but
am an ally you can count on—and I will be an outspoken champion for the protections, visibility, and opportunity you deserve.”

Following this, the company announced, “Florida’s HB 1557, also known as
the ‘Don’t Say Gay’ bill, should never have passed and should never have
been signed into law. Our goal as a company is for this law to be repealed
by the legislature or struck down in the courts, and we remain committed
to supporting the national and state organizations working to achieve
    that.”

“We are dedicated to standing up for the rights and safety of LGBTQ+
members of the Disney family, as well as the LGBTQ+ community in Florida
and across the country,” The Walt Disney Company asserted.

Disney is clearly not throwing in the towel. They are doing the complete opposite. They are doubling down on their “not-so-secret gay agenda” and
their efforts to groom you and your children into immoral and disordered lifestyles.
