    Miyazaki should have stuck to writing his own stories instead of doing
    hatchet jobs on other people's. Although if you compare Nausicaa film and
    manga you could argue he did a hatchet job on his own story! (Though there

    it is proverbial that the film of a book is seldom
    as satisfying as the imagination employed in reading the
    book. A small problem is that the adapter for the screen
    seldom seemed to read more than the blurb.
    Miyazaki knew waht he wanted in the film. The
    manga evolved as he wrote and may have gotten away from
    him at times.
