    I thought The Complete Peanuts 1997-1998 might clear things up, but looks like that book just goes with the reruns for that period and doesn't call out the hiatus at all. I thought that was kind of amusing.

    I'm trying to put my finger on exactly what Peanuts strips within the original 1950-2000 run were reruns.

    I know Schulz went on a 5-week hiatus in 1997. I believe that started 11/26 or 11/27. 11/27 is certainly a rerun, but I'm not sure about 11/26. I'm also not sure exactly when he returned and whether there were any original strips in that window of time,
    like Sundays, or if it was solid reruns.

    Anyone have any ideas on this?

    What you need, friend, is the Peanuts Wiki. The 26th of November, 1997, was an original and the last original strip for the year, Sundays included:

    The links provide the original dates for all the strips, which
    ranged from 1987 to 1992 in no obvious order.
