At least two other comics are repeating Dec 2016 strips, Luann and Jump
Start. Since both have story arcs which build on previous arcs, the
    disjunction this week is jarring.

Most of the Universal Syndicate strips are in rerun this week. Dan

    the outage a while back.

Hmmm - our local paper as an "appreciation gift" for 2022 sent us a
link to a PDF 'e-book' of the paper's led editorial cartoonist.

Which to me is hilariously funny since (a) in October they stopped
publishing the Monday print edition (it's available on their server
and (b) we've had a recent snowstorm which has had the effect that
I've had exactly ONE paper before noon since December 17th even though
the roads have been navigable throughout and most driveways clear
since December 20th. Needless to say this is a 35 year subscriber who
is thinking seriously about cancelling his subscription if things
don't improve an awful lot awfully quickly.

Getting what is supposed to be a morning paper between 1-4 pm (which
is what we've had the last 10 days) simply doesn't cut it.

Any excuse in a storm. Or after one, evidently.

I cancelled ours when the paper decided that "one year prepaid" meant
"almost 11 months prepaid" because their monthly rate had gone up. I
don't do business that way, and I told them that they shouldn't be
    doing it that way either.

Morning paper -- Yesterday's News Today
Evening paper -- This Morning's News (at best) This Evening

The world moved much more slowly when we relied on printed newspapers.
