Tuca & Bertie Secures Season 3 Renewal Ahead of Final Two Episodes
------------------------------------------------------------------
Adult Swim has officially renewed Lisa Hanawalt's adult animated
comedy series Tuca & Bertie for a third season after it has
consistently ranked number one during its Sunday timeslot. The
final two episodes of the second season are set to debut on
August 8, and August 15.
The network has revealed that Tuca & Bertie Season 2 has also
increased the number of teen viewers (ages 12-17) and young
females (ages 18-24) coming to Adult Swim, up +65% and +38%,
respectively.
Tuca & Bertie is a comedy "about the friendship between two
30-year-old bird women who live in the same apartment building:
Tuca, a cocky, carefree toucan, and Bertie, an anxious,
daydreaming songbird. In the second season, Bertie is busy
excavating her inner ghouls with the help of a therapist, while
Tuca prefers to stuff hers behind the toilet. She'll deal with
them later, right now she's just too busy trying not to be single
anymore! Meanwhile, Speckle (Steven Yeun) is building a new house
but soon finds he's driven to the brink of insanity... good thing
he's just a cartoon."
The series features a voice cast led by Tiffany Haddish as Tuca,
Ali Wong as Bertie, and Steven Yeun as Speckle. They are joined
by Nicole Byer, Richard E. Grant, John Early, Reggie Watts,
Shamir Bailey, Jennifer Lewis, and Kate Berlant.
Tuca & Bertie is created and executive produced by Lisa Hanawalt
(BoJack Horseman). Executive producers are Haddish, Wong, Raphael
Bob-Waksberg (BoJack Horseman), Noel Bright (BoJack Horseman,
Friends), and Steven A. Cohen (BoJack Horseman, Jack & Bobby).
The series' animation is being done at Shadowmachine.
