Love it after One year and that flop Class.
What a comic start! Christmas day 24 years ago and
the Doctor is setting a trap and is caught in his own trap.
Flint, the kid who let's the Doctor in, thinks the Doctor is actually Santa Claus! This kid is really into comics yet I am surprised
the Doctor has never run into Superman nor Spiderman. Flint thinks
this is a medical doctor. The Doctor hands Flint a
glass of water and a gem. The Doctor is preparing a device
for attack. Oops! Flint swallows the gem that is needed
to power the machine and he ends up having superhero superpowers!
Flashbacks are rather awkward, so basiccaly Flint will grow up with
the red star gem in his system for the rest of his life.
X-Ray vision (and puberty issues) (The Doctor being a an algrbra sub teacher) .
He ends up working as a Male nanny to the girl he loved since he
knew in elementary (ages 6 -12 ) .
The real issue invasion by a company fronting itself as Harmony Sense.
Surgeon removes the brains of humans and take over the bodies.
The Doctor threatens to stop their invasion. The Doctor also notes
that they have been operating in world Capital Cities except for New York.
The reporter in this piece is rescue by a mysterious superhero,
who turns out to be Flint. Faster than a speeding bullet ...
So 2 subplots Ghost / Flint and Harmony sense.
The clincher is when Harmony tries to 'enlist' Ghost/Flint!
Good Luck because a bigger problem is going to hit the invasion.
This is typical Moffat. The Doctor comes up with a plan due to
invader slip! The ship is a bomb waiting to go off. The
doctor interferes with the plan and save the day with Flint having to
expose himself to his reporter girlfriend.
Plot Hole: The Doctor went to Rhodes then met Flint. Still
the River Song effect is still there (Was it in class?)
Nice to see Norval is back. He is an intertesting character fold.
Will Harmony Sense be back? UNIT did not clear them out.
Looking forward to the next season in Spring!
