This collection of rare photographs of mostly young women is from Lasell Seminary from 1906. Approximately 36 photographs, two laid in brochures, three affixed brochures, about ten clippings from various newspaper articles and documents related to the
college, and additional period paper of four folder long sheets All these were put into a "Dodd, Mead & Company hardcover" book for this purpose that was printed in 1904. Some amazing photographs, signatures and messages. There is a lot of humor in
the book, and an early example of woman's feelings about equality. There are three photographs of nearby mansions, one of a long shot of some storefronts in the town, one of about a dozen young women walking down a street, and several more.
It is in mostly very clean, very good condition except for a small stain at front cover near top. There is a very easy to remove label affixed merely with a small piece of tape which simply says "MA."
