John passed on this week. I had the pleasure of meeting him at the skilled nursing facility he lived at. Over the past four months or so, I would talk drums with him and we would do a "one stick jam" together, because he lost use of his left hand.
He was a wealth of knowledge and a pleasure to know. I am 55 years old and he was very surprised that I was a fan of drummers like Dave Tough, Gene Krupa, Louie Bellson and others.
