‘The HQ is on fire,’ screeched Yellow Peri.
‘Let Ice know,’ said Blue Beetle, not looking up from his girlie magazine. ‘She handles fire.’
‘It’s rumoured she handles fire very sensitively,’ said Yellow Peri, eyebrow raised.
‘Vicious rumour. They’re just good friends. Green Flame likes Flash. He doesn’t fall for her Brazillian charms though.’
‘The fire is probably still burning,’ said Yellow Peri.
‘You know Miss September reminds me of a girl I went to college with,’ said Blue Beetle.
Booster Gold came over from the Aquarium where he had been playing with the goldfish, and looked at the picture. ‘Yeh, she is kind of familiar.’
‘Is that Hot Girls Issue 47?’ asked Yellow Peri.
Ted looked at the cover. ‘Why, yes it is,’ he replied. ‘How did you know?’
‘It’s my sister. She’s very – fruity.’
‘She is indeed,’ replied Ted. ‘Now where is this fire?’
‘Doe someone know there’s a fire in the basement,’ said Green Flame, coming in the den.
‘Ice is handling it,’ said Blue Beetle
‘Someone has told her this?’ asked Flame.
‘Yellow Peri will,’ said Ted.
‘Has or will?’ asked Fire, eyebrow raised.
‘Do people know there is a fire in the basement,’ said Ice, coming in the room.
‘Now you can tell her Loretta,’ said Blue Beetle to Yellow Peri.
‘Maybe she knows,’ said Yellow Peri, innocently.
‘You reckon,’ replied Green Flame.
‘Oberon is handling it,’ said Ice.
‘She’s a cute sister,’ said Blue Beetle, looking at the magazine. ‘Men,’ said Green Flame, and stormed off.
Oberon came in, with singed hair. ‘I could have used your help Ice,’ he said.
‘I was letting bossman know,’ said Ice Maiden defensively.
‘About what?’ asked Yellow Peri.
The fire,’ said Ice Maiden.
‘Oh, Ice is handling that,’ said Yellow Peri.
‘I’m Ice,’ said Ice.
Oh, that’s right. I get confused.’
‘Yeh, she’s pretty hot,’ said Booster Gold, looking at the pic of Yellow Peri’s sister.
Oberon looked on frustrated. ‘Maxwell Lord was never this challenging,’ he said, and headed off to the bathroom to look at his red scalp.
