Whoke Disaster! Gibson gone after less than one series to be replaced by discrimination hire Varada Sethu to tick more woke check boxes. It's
Gatwa and the show's woke bigotry that's the problem, not Gibson. Who do
they think is going to watch this crap which doesn't represent or
inspire the majority of the population?

To be honest I thought Millie did okay in the one episode we've seen
her in... it looked to be the start of a promising storyline.

I say cancel the various TV shows that Bradley Walsh is in and bring
    back Graham!!!

Of course it’s a joke. It was a joke in the 1970s, and even more so now
when cheque books are a thing of the past in the U.K. Piss poor prizes and corny humour are the POINT of Blankety Blank. The game show is the format,
not the reality of the show.

    Hosts:

    Terry Wogan
    Les Dawson
    Paul O’Grady (as Lily Savage)
    Bradley Walsh

If you don’t know those names, Google them. Blankety Blank has ALWAYS been
a joke. An inside joke between the host, the audience, the celebrities and
the contestants. Why else do you think the contestants say they’d like to
win a sports car when they know the best they can hope for is an inflatable
    hot tub?

With every post Aggie reveals himself to be an even bigger idiot. It’s very clear that RTD has a specific character arc in mind for Ruby Sunday. He’ll tell that story, then she moves on. Nothing to do with woke agendas, except insofar as RTD is about as woke as they come.

Thinking about it, Martha and Donna were companions for one full
season, with some additional guest appearances afterwards. So it
wouldn't be out of character for RTD to do the same thing with Ruby.
One full season and some episodes after, possibly to tidy up loose
ends. The unfortunate thing for Millie Gibson is that one season of
Doctor Who is shorter now than it was back in 2007. Whilst for us the
viewer, we are in the strange position of hearing [rumours] about a
companion leaving when we have only seen Ruby Sunday in one episode
    of Doctor Who.

Dan's definition of clown comes from http://www.chakoteya.net/DoctorWho/10-1.htm

    JO: Look.
(The scanner shows William inside a pyramid shape. He was too ill to act, bless him.)
DOCTOR 1: [on scanner] Ah, there you are. I seem to be stuck up here. Hmm? Hmm? Oh, so you're my replacements. Huh. A dandy and a clown. Have you done anything?
DOCTOR 2: Well, we've, er, assessed the situation.
DOCTOR 1 [on scanner]: Just as I thought. Nothing.
DOCTOR: Well it's not easy, you know.

Get out of chronic hysteresis mode Dannyboy!

Dannyboy just wants his post count to increase.
Are you complaining that your post count is too low Dannyboy?

    Not yet!

Of course it’s a joke. It was a joke in the 1970s, and even more so now when cheque books are a thing of the past in the U.K. Piss poor prizes and corny humour are the POINT of Blankety Blank. The game show is the format, not the reality of the show.

Blankety Blank was not about the prizes, it was about camp double

    Paul O’Grady (as Lily Savage)
    Bradley Walsh

If you don’t know those names, Google them. Blankety Blank has ALWAYS been a joke. An inside joke between the host, the audience, the celebrities and the contestants. Why else do you think the contestants say they’d like to win a sports car when they know the best they can hope for is an inflatable hot tub?

They contestants couldn't even afford to run a hut tub let alone as

In "Blankety Blank", every contestant gets a chequebook and pen trophy,
even if they also win the bigger prizes ... "bigger" is relative
though. The various hosts of the show over the years have even made the
    prizes a joke point.

"Pointless" is another quiz show with relatively minor prizes. Bradley
Walsh often joke about that show in his own quiz shows.

The relaity is that very few TV quiz show actually have big prizes,
especailly in the more budget limited UK. On "The Chase" most
contestants get nothing at all or only a couple of thousand pounds,
even though Bradley Walsh often jokes about how small the prize money
    is on "Pointless".

The relaity is that very few TV quiz show actually have big prizes,

Considering Aggy seems to be a big fan, it shows that TV is reduced to pandering to the lowest of the lowest denominator in the hopes of

Thanks to Bradley Walsh I'd say... one of the biggest names on TV
    at the moment.

What does it say about the current state of television if the
biggest show on a Saturday evening is a forty year old game show
with thickos as contestants coming up with stupid phrases for a
laugh... is it no wonder most of the population are turning to
Netflix, Prime Video and Disney+ (etc.) for their entertainment?

Considering Aggy seems to be a big fan, it shows that TV is reduced
to pandering to the lowest of the lowest denominator in the hopes
of stopping them from saving their pennies up to pay for a
    streaming subscription.

Television today is dumbed-down and nothing more than bubblegum for
the brain. That's why the masses are sleep-walking their way in to oblivion... stupid game shows, cookery programmes and reality TV
shows featuring 'celebrities' that people have never heard of.

The best thing I've watched recently is "Reacher" (S2) on Prime
Video. The terrestrial television stations like RTE/BBC/ITV (etc.)
could never make a programme like that in 2023... and if they could,
    they wouldn't!

Is that Tom Cruise, ex-Military Policeman, 'Reacher' that you refer to??
I've seen three or four of the Movie-length episodes .... and liked them.

Tom Cruise? Most definitely not! Same character though, just played
by a man that actually fits the description of the Jack Reacher in
the novels... i.e. a big fella! Tom Cruise was too small for the role
really. His two Jack Reacher movies were okay, but the Amazon Prime
    "Reacher" series is way better.

The shit made to pander to SJW activists and brainwashed the
audience with far left propaganda isn't even worth torrenting.

No need for torrenting when you are on Usenet...

But I think a lot of modern TV programmes are just shit because they
are shit. Bad writing and dumbed down. I don't think too much thought
has been put in to them at all. The big studios just churn them out by-the-numbers. All US cop-type shows have the same formula and you
know within five minutes of watching an episode who did it.

could never make a programme like that in 2023... and if they
    could, they wouldn't!

Because all terrestrial broadcasters are only aiming at one
demographic, women between the ages of 35 to 44 of extremely low
intelligence who fall into the C2, D and E demographic groups which
consist of the most stupid and gullible individuals who question
nothing the see or hear and will buy any old crap that is
advertised to them, even if they don't need it. These ignorant
morons can't understand anything except contemporary kitchen sink
drama and that is why everything has been dumbed down for them. On
top of that the exclusion and discrimination agendas practised by
these degenerate broadcasters has resulted in shit writers, shit
producers, shit directors, and shit actors, being hired based on
their gender, sexuality and skin colour alone, most if not all of
whom are autistic, and that is why they write and behave like 6
    year old children.

You give them too much credit. The broadcasters just want cheap TV.
And as the old saying goes; pay peanuts, get monkeys.

A lot of the TV shows produced these days are written by poor writers
without an original idea in their head. That's why all the old shows
are just re-hashed for a modern audience. I don't mind the lack of
originality if it's entertaining, but a lot of the time it isn't!

could never make a programme like that in 2023... and if they

No, I mean the same ideas done over and over again like your forty

but they are not new or original. No talent is required to revive

I didn't like Lenny Henry in "Rings of Power", not because Lenny
Henry is black but I don't find him funny and never did, plus his
character "Sadoc Burrows" - and the whole series in fact - was mind
numbingly boring. Black or White Harfoot's are irrelevant when the

Yes! There has always been agendas and box ticking... the original
"Star Trek" from the 1960's had a pretty much 'one of everything
cast' and there were plenty of moral issues depicted in the stories.
However, the episodes were still [generally] entertaining and even

Writers today are just lazy and they think that if they push a cause

The writers who are chosen are the ones who are lazy and lacking in
talent because they are chosen over far better writers because they push
the same vile woke agenda advocated by the executive producers, show
runners, and broadcasters. You're not going to get good writing until
wokery is excised from the entertainment industry completely and hiring
is based on merit rather than political leaning, skin colour, gender,
    and sexuality.

There's nothing wrong with Blankety Blank or Gladiators. They are
classics. Being new doesn't necessarily make something better. 99% of
new ideas today are complete shit, because woke retards thing they can
write better than the classics such as those written by Shakespeare,
Dumas, Dickens, Doyle, Verne, and Wells, and get away with it by filling everything with woke excrement.

A black person in a costume drama doesn't bother me, if the said
drama is enjoyable to watch. If a TV show is boring it doesn't matter
    who is in it.

Wrong. You lose all suspension of disbelief when a black or Asian person
is chosen to play a white historical figure like Isaac Newton, Anne
Boleyn, Cleopatra, or Achilles. Race swapping historical characters,
real or not real is fundamentally racist and intolerable. Race swapping
Nelson Mandela would be unacceptable, so why was Isaac Newton race
    swapped by Retard T. Davies?

I didn't like Lenny Henry in "Rings of Power", not because Lenny

The fact that Lenny Henry was in it was an instant warning that it was
going to be crap, because you knew by that that the bigoted and racist
woke agenda was put before good writing. The writers were so bad and
totally incompetent that the only way they could sell the show was
    through woke virtue signalling.

So I focus more on the writers. Some of them might have "woke"
agendas but they should still be capable of writing something
entertaining, which for me should be their job!

Woke writers can't write, period! Forcing someone to insert unchallenged
woke ideology into what they write, and forbidding them to write strong
male characters, or include a heroic journey, or heterosexual romance
and feminine female characters, in order to appease far-left
lesbian-feminist bigots who despise everything masculine or feminine
makes them write like 6 year old children with autism.

Well I'm not wrong if it doesn't bother ME!!! Which it rarely does.

I've told you before, I watch TV to be entertained... I can go down

People not knowing the word "gravity" kind of foreshadows something

Anne Boleyn, Cleopatra, or Achilles. Race swapping

At a guess I'd say the real Cleopatra wasn't as white as Elizabeth

I haven't seen anyone play a black Achilles as I hate all that Greek
shit. (Sorry!) I even used play as the "Norse" in "Age of Mythology"
just so I could defeat Artemis, Hades & Co.

But I'll take your word for it that Achilles wasn't an oily skinned

today's writers can't write to save their lives...but by golly
they're going to push that agenda even if the story and the writing
sucks (and they really don't know that their writing sucks...as
long as the producer is getting what they want, the writers are
safe). The bad writing leads to a show that isn't entertaining.

I once heard Gary Burghoff (Radar O'Reilly in "MASH") say, "The
entertainment comes first...the 'message' comes second." If you
think about it, that's why shows like MASH, All in the Family, ST:
TNG, ST: DS9, et al. were so popular: they were WELL written first
and foremost, and in many cases the individual stories also had
egalitarian messages intertwined with a good story. A large number
of today's writers can't do that...as long as the agenda is being
pushed, they think they're doing a good job.

Yes! There has always been agendas and box ticking... the original
"Star Trek" from the 1960's had a pretty much 'one of everything
cast' and there were plenty of moral issues depicted in the stories.
However, the episodes were still [generally] entertaining and even
after all these years, still enjoyable to watch. I doubt anyone will
be watching "Rings of Power" in 2073 and calling it a classic TV
    series!!!

Writers today are just lazy and they think that if they push a cause
or agenda that's all they have to do, the producers then give them a
pat on the back... and the writers forget about writing.

So Green issues were stronger in the 1970s are of today?

A lot of the TV shows produced these days are written by poor
writers without an original idea in their head. That's why all
the old shows are just re-hashed for a modern audience.
I don't mind the lack of originality if it's entertaining,
but a lot of the time it isn't!

By re-hashed do you mean filled with vile woke race, gender, and
identity politics which is racist, sexist, and bigoted by design,
insulting to the audience, and which was never in the originals and
totally anachronistic to the period the shows are set.

No, I mean the same ideas done over and over again like your forty
year old games shows. We mentioned "Blankety Blank" and "Gladiators"
but they are not new or original. No talent is required to revive
something just to fill a TV schedule. That's what you get with the
terrestrial TV channels these days, bubblegum for the brain!

There's nothing wrong with Blankety Blank or Gladiators. They are
classics. Being new doesn't necessarily make something better. 99% of
new ideas today are complete s*t, because woke retards thing they can
write better than the classics such as those written by Shakespeare,
Dumas, Dickens, Doyle, Verne, and Wells, and get away with it by filling >everything with woke excrement.

Race swapping >Nelson Mandela would be unacceptable, so why was Isaac Newton race
    swapped by Retard T. Davies?

    Point well taken!

I didn't like Lenny Henry in "Rings of Power", not because Lenny
Henry is black but I don't find him funny and never did, plus his
character "Sadoc Burrows" - and the whole series in fact - was mind
numbingly boring. Black or White Harfoot's are irrelevant when the
whole show was a turgid mess to sit through.

The fact that Lenny Henry was in it was an instant warning that it was
going to be crap, because you knew by that that the bigoted and racist
woke agenda was put before good writing. The writers were so bad and
totally incompetent that the only way they could sell the show was
    through woke virtue signalling.

What about 3 little birds on ITV?

So I focus more on the writers. Some of them might have "woke"
agendas but they should still be capable of writing something
entertaining, which for me should be their job!

Woke writers can't write, period! Forcing someone to insert unchallenged
woke ideology into what they write, and forbidding them to write strong
male characters, or include a heroic journey, or heterosexual romance
and feminine female characters, in order to appease far-left
lesbian-feminist bigots who despise everything masculine or feminine
makes them write like 6 year old children with autism.

    As Shatner would say ...

Well I'm not wrong if it doesn't bother ME!!! Which it rarely does.

I've told you before, I watch TV to be entertained... I can go down
the pub and put money in to a cap/bucket if I want to do politics.

You lose all suspension of disbelief when a black or Asian

If "mavity" is being used I'm still going with 'alternate universe'
    on that one!

People not knowing the word "gravity" kind of foreshadows something
    like that...

Anne Boleyn, Cleopatra, or Achilles. Race swapping

At a guess I'd say the real Cleopatra wasn't as white as Elizabeth
    Taylor!!!

Greek that liked to spit and smash plates...

    Splitting hairs are you?
