There were definately dye transfer 35mm prints of SOM.

How many in the USA, which is where I am refering in the post? Is there
are record of what theatres had them?

I ran SOM first run and handled dozens of prints in 35mm. They were all >DeLuxe prints. The DeLuxe leaders had an indication of a YCM element, >however, all were Eastman.

When I worked for Films Inc in '70's (non theatrical distributor for Fox) >this is the type print would archive in 35mm IB Technicolor if available. >None were ever offered by Fox.

A few more facts will convince me of 'definately', Robert. :-).

I wasn't aware that it was anyone's job to "convince."

For the record I examined a dye transfer 35mm optical print
of "Sound of Music" in London in 1989.

It may be that 35mm IB prints were produced in England but
not in the USA? According to Wide Screen Movies if I remember correctly.

Or was that from TECHNICOLOR MOVIES by Richard Haines?
