There are a few more dates listed at in70mm.com:

Presumably the additional dates are as yet unconfirmed?

I wasn't expecting a release in anything close to the number of venues
that screened 70mm prints of DUNKIRK or THE HATEFUL EIGHT, but it's a
shame that this one isn't a bit wider.

It turned out to be a bit wider release than the list at in70mm.com
would have indicated - Warner has a site up with ticket info for the
venues that are currently screening it:

Caught it here in Houston earlier this week, and the print looked quite
nice for "unrestored", with only a few frames of obvious source element
damage in a couple of spots.

Saw it in Sacramento last night. Sound was great, image was far too
dark and soft. I assume the softness was a projection issue, but the
darkness got slightly better after the first fade out/fade in during
"The Dawn of Man" sequence, which makes me wonder they just got a less
    than wonderful print.

It started out a bit jittery and flickery, but that also seemed to
    improve.

A big deal was made before the show started about having two people in
the booth and a Century JJ, but the screen was small and it was just
kind of underwhelming. Still, it was nice to see it with a sold-out
    and very appreciative crowd.

That sounds like setup or maintenance issues with the projection
equipment. The print I saw was solid - sharp, stable and properly
focused image with plenty of light on the screen.

It was in one of the bigger multiplexes in town, which normally might be
cause for concern, but this particular venue has one room that
apparently has 70mm gear permanently installed. THE HATEFUL EIGHT and
DUNKIRK both ran in 70mm there previously, and those presentations were similarly nice. It's not the biggest screen in the multiplex but it's
    decently large.

They clearly have someone on staff that knows how to run large-format
prints properly. Not sure what kind of projection equipment they have,
but I hope to get a peek into the booth and chat with the projectionist
    one of these days.

I'd like to know the story of the 70mm projector at the Sacramento
theater. I know they installed one back around 1986 and had a 70mm
festival. I saw a magenta print of "2001" at the time with horrible
wow in the sound. Presumably thanks to decades of platterization, it
was also missing "...still a total mystery."

I was not aware of them running 70mm in the 30+ years since, but then
in 2015 they ran "The Hateful Eight", properly illuminated but with
even more weave and soft focus. I assumed the focus issues were due to
having to work with the Ultra Panavision adaptor on top the regular
lens, but that's just speculation on my part. They also ran "Dunkirk",
    but I didn't see it.

Do you know if there are multiple new 70mm prints of "2001"? It seems
unlikely that the focus issues I saw were due to the print, but I'm
less certain about the darkness, especially given how and when it
    changed.

At least this print retained the Cinerama credit. The one they ran way
back was one that had for some bizarre reason sloppily replaced it
with "in 70mm" in a completely different typeface with the music
horribly jumbled. If someone told me they'd seen that and I hadn't
been there myself, I'd have questioned their sanity and/or
    truthfulness.

I know the Cinerama credit is removed from some home video releases,
    but I can't remember if it's on all/some/none 35mm prints.

Yes. Given the overlapping bookings at various theaters during this
limited release, several prints were required. Upthread in the original
post, Scott Norwood said that there were 4-5 new prints struck from a
new IN which was in turn from an unused IP dating back to 1999.

I don't recall seeing the Cinerama credit the last time I saw a 35mm
screening, but that was quite some time ago and I couldn't swear to it.
