double-crossing con man who tries to evade death threats by
getting himself lock-up in a small-town jail. However,
unfortunately for him, his hitman is Butler's Bob Viddick,
who's very determined to get the job done. In the middle of the

The film is currently slated to debut in theaters on September 17.
Its theatrical release date pits the film against three
competitors in the form of Warner Bros. Pictures' Clint
Eastwood-led Western drama Cry Macho, Searchlight Pictures' biopic
The Eyes of Tammy Faye, and the Justin Chon-directed drama Blue
Bayou.
Copshop is directed by Joe Carnahan (The A-Team, The Grey) from a
screenplay he co-wrote with Kurt McLeod, based on a story by
McLeod and Mark Williams. It is being led by Gerard Butler (Angel
Has Fallen), Frank Grillo (The Purge), and Alexis Louder
(The Tomorrow War), Joining them are Toby Huss, Chad L. Coleman,
Ryan O'Nan, Jose Pablo Cantillo, Robert Walker-Branchaud, Kaiwi
Lyman, Christopher Michael Holley, Marshall Cook, and Tracey
Bonner.
"Screaming through the Nevada desert in a bullet-ridden Crown Vic,"
reads the official synopsis. "Wily con artist Teddy Murretto
hatches a desperate plan to hide out from lethal hitman Bob
Viddick: He sucker-punches rookie officer Valerie Young to get
himself arrested and locked up in a small-town police station. But
jail can't protect Murretto for long. Viddick schemes his own way
into detention, biding his time in a nearby cell until he can
complete his mission. When the arrival of a competing assassin
ignites all-out mayhem, mounting threats force Viddick to get
creative if he wants to finish the job and escape the explosive
situation."
Copshop is produced by Butler and Alan Siegel through their G-Based
Productions banner along with Carnahan and Grillo through their
WarParty Films banners. Producers are Williams, Tai Duncan, Warren
Goz, and Eric Gold, with Open Road's James Masciello, Matthew
Sidari, and Tom Ortenberg serving as executive producers.
