• "The Last Duel" Good movie, some spoilers

From RichA@21:1/5 to All on Thu Dec 9 00:47:42 2021
Concerns true events in the lives of two French knights in the 14th century. One is educated and bit of a scumbag. The other, not educated but scrupulously honest. The uneducated one played by Matt Damon gets wed to a woman who is educated, like the
other man. Anyway, one thing leads to another and the two men end up fighting a joust to the death. The characters are really multidimensional and Ben Affleck as the local lord and cousin to the king is better than I've seen him in most movies. Adam
Driver does a good job as the fair-weather friend and foe of Damon. The movie looks good, muted colours and lots of very good computer work on long-gone castles.

I started watching this but stopped until I find a version with subtitles,
as the audio swings wildly from low-talking quiet scenes to loud as shit
    battle scenes.

Much as I loath to change the intent of the producers, a "normalization" circuit in some equipment would be good.
