The Marvels decently entertaining

Certainly not the best of the lot, but entertaining, and surely
better than Multiverse of Madness or Antman Quantum. The youngest
of the three leads was very engaging, and her central-casting "quirky
ethnic family" had a nice dynamic. Even Brie Larson showed signs
of developing a personality, and Jackson was good in "harried boss"
mode. And for all the worry about WOKE & The Message, about the only
bit I noticed was a diss-in-passing about fracking.
Some things didn't work, the musical planet in particular (though there
was another musical moment that worked very well) and there was evidence
of a lot of cuts (What exactly happened to the Skrulls? Were the people
on the musical planet OK in the end?), but it certainly wasn't a disaster.
I think that as a result of Disney involving itself in the culture wars,
people are now predisposed to dislike its movies even when they are OK.
It's like that hip band (say, The Knack) that's still making the same
music, but suddenly the zeitgeist turns and they're no longer hip..
