In the opening scene of David Cronenberg's CRIMES OF THE FUTURE (his
first film in 8 years) a youngster playing in beach sand is remonstrated
by his mother not to eat anything. And this, being a non-spoiler
thread, is all I can say, noting only that Cronenberg hasn't lost his
penchant for twisting his audiences' viscera. Unfortunately, his sights
here are set upon "social" themes both grand and oblique ...leaving this
flick to find its admirers mainly among cineastes and Cronenberg
completists. (I'm still one.) So, it's only modestly recommended.
