we get to the third movie. Trinity dies (ruining Neo's choices in the second
movie), Neo dies but without defeating the Matrix, he killed the virus infecting the Matrix. The Matrix is rebooted and continues living on human batteries. Zion is virtually destroyed. It will take generations to rebuild the city. By then, the remaining humans will start up war with the Matrix in
an effort to rescue humans still within the Matrix.
in the Matrix than in Zion. But for those that wanted to, they would be free to
go, no agents chasing after them. The war between humans and machines was over.
