Which you were also mistaken about, and I explained to you nearly endlessly.
I'm just not well-versed enough in late 60s/early 70s music to pick up on
them all.
Seriously, nothing like that is there, although I do love Leonard Cohen's poetry, this is working in a very different area than "Suzanne"... ask somebody who would actually know, like George Dance.

Music by Rob Wright and Jack Snipe.
Again, I love the Leonard Cohen poetry, but this poem is operating on a
whole other level, one personal to me and my world, as is "Esquiline Hill" unique to me and the setting for my poetry, Shadowville.
So, Ping: George Dance.

Poem by Will Dockery
Music by Rob Wright and Jack Snipe.
Again, I love the Leonard Cohen poetry, but this poem is operating on a >>>>> whole other level, one personal to me and my world, as is "Esquiline Hill"
unique to me and the setting for my poetry, Shadowville.
Retro Guy has hit his stride with Nova BBS.
Still a few glitches but getting better finally.

Apple Montage
Sneaking around
with Cousin Jenny,
smoking menthol
beyond the sheds.
Late summer vacation 1973
in the backwoods of Tennessee.
To the right
behind the barn
were apple trees.
There were several
of those trees
and other trees
behind them
beyond a field
and behind them, other trees.
Later, I stood near
as a crowd
watched Pops and my Uncle
cooking apple butter;
stirring the brown gunk,
boiling in a huge black kettle.
I saw my father
secretly pass
a wine bottle
to my Uncle Clarence.
I went from
breathing cold mist
out back behind the barn,
to breathing
the hot misty steam.
The air smelled of apple fumes
and strong booze.

Ugh, another broken thread...!

"Words and Music by Will Dockery, Robert Wright and Jack Snipe. First draft; lead guitar and bck vocals need a little tweaking; otherwise I think I've done a pretty decent job on the production." -Jack Snipe
Again, more of my poetry based on my life, filtered through memory and
dream... transformed into Art.
Those who understand, will... those who do not, are not my problem.
Most seem to get it, Doc....
Those who matter, at least.

More notations in my Drafts file.
