    Heh. A ploy to minimize the number of people who are going to
    subscribe for one month, binge-watch, and un-subscribe? Well, maybe

    Thanks to the newer technology and effects, it's more of a sequel to
    the horrible "Enterprise" series than any kind of true pre-Kirk-era
    prequel. Then there's the "change for the sake of change" idiocies like
    the "new" Klingons that ook even sillier than any previous version,
    plus the current-fad "Politically Correct" / "Diverse" crew for the
    sake is simply ridiculous.

    All in all, it's just yet another piece of modernised, ill-fitting
    "Crap Trek" (sub-)franchise that will be well worth avoiding. :-(

    "The Orville" looks much better, even with its purile, juvenille "humour".

    Apparently, You Can't Say 'God' on Star Trek:

    "Yes. I know. I know that makes no sense given that one of the most famous bad lines in all of Star Trek history is “What does God need with a starship?” I also
    know it makes no sense since Deep Space Nine’s Sisko was the literal chosen one of
    the Bajoran god-equivalents. I know that and you know that. But my god, does Star
    Trek: Discovery not know that.

    Okay, So Now Star Trek: Discovery Can Say 'God':

    "The USS Discovery has got to be a ship stuck in one location, based on the number of
    weird u-turns and backpedals it has done. Contrary to the article in which Entertainment
    Weekly previewed its cover story on Star Trek: Discovery, apparently “God” is a perfectly
    fine word for a Terran to say."
