GREEN ROOM is a movie from last year written and directed by Jeremy
Saulnier which is finally getting released to movie theatres.
The cast is almost entirely unknown to me, beyond Alia Shawkat (Arrested Development), Imogen Poots, and Patrick Stewart.
It is impossible to talk very much about this movie without spoiling it,
and the movie deserves to be seen with as little foreknowledge as
possible.
The movie details the events that happen to a down-and-out punk rock
band and there is a great deal of violence in the film.
The performances are very good, especially a chilling Patrick Stewart
in a surprising role. Beyond the performances, which are difficult to
talk about without revealing the plot, the movie makes surprising and refreshing choices throughout in a way that keeps you pleasantly
off-balance.
If you can handle the level of violence, it's very much recommended.
