It doesn’t look like there will be any more sequels for Roman
Polanski in the Oscar winner’s nearly 40-year legal drama over
the rape of a then-13-year-old girl.
Prosecutors in Poland officially dropped their appeal of a
court’s previous denial of an American request to extradite the
“Rosemary’s Baby” director back to the U.S. to face charges in
the 1977 incident, in which Polanski later pleaded guilty to
plying the teen model with champagne and drugs before having sex
with her.
That move effectively ends the legal options for prosecutors on
this side of the Atlantic to reopen the case against the now 82-
year-old filmmaker.
Polanski felt "great relief" and “satisfaction,” his lawyer, Jan
Olszewski, told The Associated Press after Friday's decision.
