I always thought that Ennio Morricone would never die, that he would
work to his last breath. I was about half right ... it is extraordinary
that he kept his creativity alive for so long, when the wells run dry
for so many contemporary composers.
The music of his that I listen to most often is found in his collaborative album with Haley Westenra. But his greatest work, to me, will always be
his score for _Days of Heaven_.
