• Most Voters Think Fat, Druggie Trump Would Die Before End of Second Ter

Most believe morbidly obese, mentally and physically feeble old druggie
    Trump's days are numbered.

He is 77 years old and will be 78 in June.

If Trump dies while seeking reelection, a few different things could
happen, depending on when he dies and how close it is to Election Day.

There's no national deadline to file to run for president of the United
States. Instead, filing deadlines vary depending on the state and party.

There are currently eight declared candidates, including Trump, on the GOP side. If Trump were to die before January 1, 2024, there would likely be
other Republicans who want to jump into the race.

Many states' filing deadlines have already passed, however, meaning that
state election officials would need to adjust them to allow new candidates
    to enter the race.

If Trump died during primary season — which ends in mid-June — some states
    may postpone their scheduled primaries.

There's some precedent for this; at the height of the COVID-19 pandemic,
more than a dozen states postponed their primaries or expanded vote-by-mail options.

If Trump died after the last primary contest but before the Republican
National Convention, the other GOP presidential candidates would have to
make a case to every state delegation at the convention for why they should
    be the party's nominee.

And if Trump secured the GOP nomination but died between the convention and Election Day 2024, the RNC would convene to select another presidential candidate.

Voters elect Electors not Presidents. Electors will still elect
someone, or throw it to Congress. States can leave him on the
ballot with the understanding that if the dead man wins (not the
brain dead man), the republican Electors can vote for another
republican, with the state or that party urging them who to vote
for. If he dies between the EC vote and inauguration, the vice
president elect gets inaugurated as president.

So in every category but body weight Trump is superior in age, mental and physical aspects.

So tell us who's days are numbered?

The only danger from K is if JOE pops an artery (again)
or becomes too senile for rescue even by the best pharmas.

Trump IS getting old and fat. There IS some risk. However
it'd be HIS VP who would become POTUS automatically, not K.

We'd be a LOT safer with his VP.

Trump could also be totally impeached/disqualified either
just after election or shortly after Jan 20th. In that
case his VP would, again, become POTUS.

If disqualified BEFORE the election, the GOP candidate
with the next highest number of electoral credits is
supposed to become THE candidate. That'd be Haley,
    which would be OK.

Everybody knows K is a total mush-brain - even the Dems
don't want her in the picture but can't figure how to
push her out at this juncture. K is Biden's insurance
policy, his Dan Quayle, SO bad that you HAVE to keep Joe.

Republican National Convention, the other GOP presidential candidates
would have to make a case to every state delegation at the convention
for why they should be the party's nominee.

And if Trump secured the GOP nomination but died between the
convention and Election Day 2024, the RNC would convene to select
    another presidential candidate.

    Forwarded to the proper authorities.

HHH was "more serious" than K - by wide margin. As much
of a dick that, um, Dick was we're still lucky HHH was
    SUCH a crappy candidate.

In '68 the Dems were kinda caught out. LBJ could have
cruised to re-election (despite the Vietnam mess) but
by that time knew he could not survive another term,
his docs made it clear he'd blow a gasket. Bobby K
WOULD have been the fall-back ... but should have
stayed out of the kitchen. So, time short, they had
to pick *somebody* people had at least heard of and
HHH had age/experience, was VP, and we saw him on
TV enough so he wasn't some total stranger. Had
    a catchy funny name too ! Humphrey-Dumptie :-)

Just TOO boring/dull alas. I don't immediately know
whether Wallace hurt Nixon or HHH the most ... but
in the 60s the "southern Democrats" really seemed
to like Wallace and his hard-line on race issues.

    K was just some lower-level crime-loving official,
never got an inch of electoral traction and would
have been instantly forgotten. But ... Joe needed
his Dan Quayle plus K is 'black' and female and
    that scores points with Gen-X/Y

Apples and oranges. We vote for a candidate for President.
    Do you?

No, you do not vote for your Prime Minister. Your party chooses him (or
    her). Entirely different systems.

Would you be happier if I said "and his party lost the popular vote in
    the last two federal elections"?

After all there are 338 federal electoral districts in Canada and
there will be more after the electoral redistribution commission gets
done and the new districts implemented. I believe the American term is "redistricting" (obviously this is House only)

Canada for one - 2 of the last 3 elections have put a party in power

It's theoretically possible in ANY jurisdiction where you have local
elections for seats and one party wins each district by a differing
number of votes - for instance if one party wins by margins of 50000+
votes in their districts and loses by margins of 1000 in other
districts, if there are more districts they lose they win they can
easily have more votes but less seats.

This can even happen in countries with proportional representation
systems when the seats are proportionally distributed by state. (Or in
Germany where this happened by 'lander' which is effectively the same
    thing)

The United States is by no means unique in this respect.

So did the side that got LESS votes take power? Cuz that's what happens >here, fairly frequently.

It's mathematically possible in ANY system that does not have a
nation-wide vote but rather elects representatives by some
sub-national area like congressional districts. Even as demonstrated
in that German example of proportional representation by state or
    province.

And yes - Justin Trudeau has had a plurality of seats three times
(which allegedly is a 'win') but only got a plurality of votes once -
and the last two times didn't get to 35% of the national vote.

Rhino has quoted polls suggesting the winning party in the next
election is likely to get dramatically more than that.

Our system is pretty unique. You can win more votes and still lose.
Show me another Democracy that does that.

How strange that you only whine about it when you lose, eh?

    Selected outrage

You misspelled "selective" you stupid worthless mothefucker. Selective
    idiocy noted.

Maybe the outrage was epicurean, chosen for its nose and body...
