    FAMILY GUY:
"Teacher's Heavy Pet". Louis begins working as a substitute teacher at
Chris's school, putting him into the popular kids club...but only time will tell how long he stays.

I was bored. Was someone doing Chris's voice for Seth this week? He sounded different.

not just any reruns, but reruns of episode that had aired within the

    Did you watch anything?.

I watched Survivor where Banu was having a meltdown over his
inevitable demise. The man just isn't made for a game where betrayal
plays a large part of the game as he just wants to get along with
everyone. Luckily he gets saved at the last minute as we have another
medical removal of a player as the guy with the wonky arm is removed.
He also turns out to be lucky as the arm is better without any medical treatment after a day or so as it appears it was just a temporary
pinched nerve. Been there with my leg when I apparently slept on
something (keys/change) that caused my leg to go numb. So for a few
hours after I woke up I couldn't move that leg until full control
    returned.

I also watched THE AMAZING RACE where we got multiple teams that all
blend together. At least until we reach the halfway point of the race
    when most teams are gone.

    Hey, thanks for asking!

    I watched.

    THE POSEIDON ADVENTURE

    No, not the 1972 classic.

No, not the 2006 Kurt Russell remake.

Did you know that there’s a really substandard Hallmark version from 2005?
    I didn’t.

The guy who wrote it, switched up things as much as he could, and added all sorts of really stupid plot devices. This time the ship flips over because terrorists blow a hole in it. But first they turn off all its electronics
and then kill themselves so that nobody will ever know what happened. The Poseidon just vanished from the radar and was never heard from again. What
the hell kind of stupid statement are the terrorists trying to make?

it has just a few people you’ve heard of at the top of the credits and then
I think they picked up everybody else in South Africa where it was filmed.

Adam Baldwin plays Ernest Borgnine, repurposed as a sea Marshall. Stella Stevens stayed home.

Rutger Hauer plays Gene Hackman. Pretty much the same character.

Steve Guttenberg plays Pamela Sue Martin‘s father, a new character

Bryan Brown Plays Carol Lynley’s boyfriend, the movie producer

Peter Weller plays Leslie Nielsen, the ships captain

Alex Kingston plays a new character some sort of CIA spook back at
    headquarters

Alexa Hamilton plays Pamela Sue Martin‘s, mother, a new character

Sylvia Sims plays Shelley Winters, whose husband died before the movie
    began

Amber Sainsbury please Pamela Sue Martin. You may remember Amber as the Cordelia Chase character in Hex.

Nathalie Boltt plays the ships whore who Steve Gutenberg is fooling around with.

Tinarie van Wyk Loots plays Carol Lynley

The dreadful script hits most of the points you remember from the original. They spent way too much time trying to explain how the ship flipped over
and stayed flipped over and they keep saying that it’s taking on water through the whole blown in the bottom of the hole but it’s upside down and the hole is way the hell out of the water so…

The ship goes down at the end with everybody else still aboard her so there won’t be a sequel.

I don't know what the rules are, but they seem really inconsistent when
it comes to the consequences of removing someone from the game. It
seems like sometimes they cancel tribal counsel and sometimes they
don't. Maybe they are consistent and it's simply a matter of when the

The Twilight Zone S3E36 'Cavender Is Coming' - DVR
An angel (Jesse White) can earn his wings by helping a down-on-her-luck
    woman (Carol Burnett). (Comcast)
Inept guardian angel Harmon Cavender is given a chance to earn his wings
by helping an unconventional big city woman, the young, awkward Agnes
    Grep. (IMDb)
Trivia! (Lots of it.) - Served as a pilot for a spin-off series about a well-intentioned but incompetent angel, but, as in the case of Mr. Bevis (1960), a series was not ordered.
In her youth, Carol Burnett (Agnes Grep) was fired from a job as an
usherette at Hollywood's Warner Brothers Theater, which was owned by an eccentric man who forbade the usherettes from speaking to him and
communicated exclusively with hand signals. At her request, her star on
the Hollywood Walk of Fame was placed directly in front of the theater's
former address at Hollywood and Wilcox.
The only episode of the series to feature a laugh track.
The original laugh track has been removed in syndication.
Rod Serling wrote the episode specifically for Carol Burnett, and it incorporates her own experience as a 15 year-old cinema usherette.
Voted as being the "most hated" episode of the series.
When the movie theater manager breaks in the new hostesses and then
dispatches them to their assignments, one of the new recruits he calls
    on is "Burnett."
This is the first time in the series that Rod Serling says "Submitted
    for your approval."
At about 15:20 a young lady comes by and says "Lovely party, Aggie!".
    It's Donna Douglas pre-Beverly Hillbillies.
    [opening narration]
Narrator: Small message of reassurance to that horizontal young
lady: don't despair, help is en route. It's coming in an odd form from a
very distant place, but it's, nonetheless, coming.
Narrator: [continuing narration, subsequent to extensive character dialogue] Submitted for your approval, the case of one Miss Agnes Grep,
put on Earth with two left feet, an overabundance of thumbs, and a
propensity for falling down manholes. In a moment, she will be up to her
jaw in miracles, wrought by apprentice angel Harmon Cavender, intent on
winning his wings. And, though it's a fact that both of them should have
stood in bed, they will tempt all the fates by moving into the cold,
gray dawn - of The Twilight Zone.

    [closing narration]
Narrator: A word to the wise now to any and all who might suddenly
feel the presence of a cigar-smoking helpmate who takes bankbooks out of
thin air. If you're suddenly aware of any such celestial aids, it means
that you're under the beneficent care of one Harmon Cavender, guardian
angel. And this message from the Twilight Zone: lotsa luck!

The Twilight Zone S3E37 'The Changing of the Guard' - DVR
Professor Fowler, a well-liked teacher at a boys school, is asked by the trustees to end his teaching career. (Comcast)
After being forced to retire, Professor Fowler contemplates suicide when
he doesn't feel he's made a difference in the world. IMDb)
Trivia: The Horace Mann quote Fowler reads, "Be ashamed to die until you
have won some victory for humanity", is the motto of Rod Serling's
college, Antioch, of which Mann was the first president. After writing
the script for "The Changing of the Guard", Serling accepted a teaching
    post at Amish College.
Although Donald Pleasence (Professor Ellis Fowler) played a teacher with
51 years experience, he was only 42 when this episode was filmed.

Next up is season four but there are four episodes of that season that I haven't been able to record over the last year. I don't know if they
just weren't shown by Syfy or there was a priority conflict in the DVR.
There were more missing but a few have been captured as Syfy is still
    showing the show late night.

and stayed flipped over and they keep saying that it’s taking on water
through the whole blown in the bottom of the hole but it’s upside down and >> the hole is way the hell out of the water so…

The ship goes down at the end with everybody else still aboard her so there >> won’t be a sequel.

Wait! - So everybody dies in the end?!!

No, sorry. The nine main characters jump out the hole in the hull and are rescued by our brave navy seals. Then the really awful CGI boat goes down.

In the original the main characters get rescued, but the boat does not
sink, leaving room for a sequel, BEYOND THE POSEIDON ADVENTURE, where a
bunch of treasure hunters show up later to try and salvage stuff and IIRC
there are still survivors in the ship.

When BEYOND was originally announced, the plot would involve the survivors
from the first movie headed home on a train and the tunnel the train was in collapses, and they all had to climb out of the mountain. I think they
pretty much turned that into one of those subway disaster in New York
    movies.

If so, this is very un-Hallmark Channel-like!!

Ian (What's also interesting is that I have no recollection of this
ever having been made, or aired, despite it being from c.2005(?))

That’s why I watched it. I had no recollection of it whatsoever, despite having seen the original in the theater, and the remake within a year of
when this would have aired (and IMDB does have an air date for it)

    From Wikipedia:

It was first aired on NBC as a single three-hour event on November 20,
2005. It also aired in 2005 on the Seven Network in Australia (with the
name The New Poseidon Adventure), and in 2006 on the USA Network in the
    United States.

It also got a 2006 DVD release.
