President Joe Biden shared a photo of himself on Monday doing some prep work for Thursday evening’s planned State of the Union Address, prompting a long string of mocking replies and memes.
“State of the Union prep. Get ready, folks,” Biden captioned the photo posted to X. The photo, taken from over his shoulder, showed the president seated outside with his prep binder and a coffee mug.

In large, bold print, the visible page outlined his opening greetings: “Good evening, my fellow Americans … Mr. Speaker … Madam Vice President … Members
of Congress and the Cabinet … Military leaders … Distinguished guests.”
“Dude can’t fit a full sentence on a page because the font has to be so big,” Red State’s Bonchie posted.

Senator Eric Schmitt (R-MO) added, “Americans have seen a preview — we’re good.” He also shared a screenshot of a recent Fox News poll showing how Americans felt about Biden’s economy.

“Where are the instructions on how to get on and off stage?” another asked.
“Dude is posting like a college girl who skipped class all semester and needs to send a pic to her parents of her studying for finals,” Harrison Krank posted.
Others made use of the visible page from Biden’s binder, whiting out the original text and substituting their own. The Prison Mitch account (@MidnightMitch) got the ball rolling by posting a template that was exactly like Biden’s original photo, but with a blank page rather than his notes.

The National Republican Congressional Committee (NRCC) replaced Biden’s text with what they believed voters would take away from the president’s Tuesday remarks: “What voters will hear: Vote Republican in 2024.”
