• Maddow's Pledge

From BTR1701@21:1/5 to All on Wed Mar 6 03:54:48 2024
On MSNBC tonight, Rachel Maddow has said that she will use a trebuchet to launch herself into the sun if Donald Trump becomes president again.

    Your thoughts?

Mine: Bon voyage! I wish the little fella well on his journey.

He's gonna wanna double down on the suntan lotion.

I feel for Americans this year, I really do. You have to choose between
two geriatrics, both of which are past their best-before dates and both
have sufficient track records to make large numbers of people dubious
    about them.

It looks like we'll be waiting until next year for our election but at
least there'll be a clear choice between the absolute worst Prime
Minister ever, Trudeau, who nearly everyone finally hates now, and a
young smart guy, Poilievre, who seems like he might actually be
competent. He's got some sharp people on his team, many of whom will
surely become cabinet members, which would be a huge step forward
from the miserable hacks and enablers on Team Trudeau.

Of course Poilievre will have to fix a LOT of damage done in the
Trudeau years but at least he seems to have the competence to pull it
off. It looks like America will have to wait until 2028 for its next
leader. Here's hoping it doesn't land on AOC as the next President!!!

Looks like it'll be Steve Garvey and Adam Schiff in the general election for Feinstein’s Senate seat. The media is reeling that Garvey defeated Democrats Barbara Lee and Katie Porter. We usually only get to choose between the top
two Democrats for Senate in this state. To have a Republican get such high numbers that he makes it to the top two is really freaking them out.

I just read his Wikipedia page. His post-baseball career and marriages

I used to have a caricature poster of him on my office wall. I didn’t know who the hell he was but a friend of mine did the art and it was really
    nice.

I doubt the (legitimate) media is "freaking out," nor should anyone
else. Schiff purposely elevated Garvery as his main enemy in his ads so
he'd be running against a Republican in the general instead of a fellow Democrat.

The big tragedy is Porter and Lee can't continue their outstanding
careers in the House of Representatives (they should've never gotten in
the race in the first place).

Trump will be such a great president that he'll convince her not to do it,
just like he convinced all those leftist snowflakes to stay in America.

I doubt the (legitimate) media is "freaking out,"

Very little of the media is legitimate anymore. The outlet I was
watching was CBS KCAL News. And yes, they were freaking out. "How could
this be?" "I don't know what to think if California really could be
sending a Republican senator to DC. Even if he loses the general
election, this is too close for comfort."

They don't even try to hide their bias anymore. And people like you
    still call them "legitimate media".

    The big tragedy is Porter

Porter is a domestic abuser who shouldn't be anywhere near a bowl of
    potatoes.

and Lee can't continue their outstanding careers in the House of Representatives

Yeah, seriously proposing a $50/hour minimum wage is such outstanding
work. An towering intellect like that will be sorely missed.

Gavin is probably kicking himself that he didn't nominate Lee to fill Feinstein's seat when she died so that Lee would have had the incumbency
to help her win. He was *so* determined to have a black woman as a
senator, he ended up sending someone from Maryland to represent
California in the Senate. Now, no matter who wins in November, he's
getting the worst of all possible outcomes: a straight white male.

They are not. It's the others, such as MSNBC, that are freaking out.

Three top Dems split the vote.

Nice attempt at rationalization, but actually, Schiff was begging Dems to vote
for Garvey so he wouldn't have to run against a Democrat.

    And that's some big sin?

All those millions running against Porter in the general can now be
used to keep The Psycho out of the White House again and to help keep
    the Senate in Dem control.

Now throw your little tantrum and roll out the dreaded Troll-O-Meter,

So it's the sad end of a marriage where both sides say the other was
awful but there's no proof other than Porter calling the police on her
husband but no actual evidence of either sides claims.
