taken on a tour of tunnels dug by Hamas beneath UN's Gaza
headquaters. They show electrical power and computer servers. UN
claims it had no idea. Again.

Who could have predicted that the Houthis would be completely
irresponsible?
I don't know if the UN is even salvageable at this point; I'm inclined
to think it isn't unless the members are prepared to make massive
changes. The very notion of some of the worsst dictatorships being on
the Human Rights Council, for instance, is beyond ridiculous. UNWRA is
clearly in need of dissolution over its utter complicity in Hamas. The
Security Council operates on the rather strange assumption that its
permanent members should be SOME of the nuclear powers but definitely
not all of them, meaning it really isn't much of a guarantor of
international security.
Iran is apparently right on the verge of becoming a nuclear power, very possibly this year, and the regime is despised by nearly all its
citizens. North Korea is already a nuclear power and says it already
has missiles that can reach all of the United States, although it's not
clear if it has figured out how to make a warhead that can fit on its
missiles. Meanwhile, the major powers seem to be asleep at the switch
because they give no obvious signs of doing something about either
problem. It seems extremely unlikely that the UN can or will do
anything.
