Wed. is my long workday, so very little:

soaps: DOOL - Tues' ep. So the lady uniformed cop (she's barely more
than an extra!) that I had fingered as Clyde Weston's "mole" was
involved in a shooting in which she killed one of Clyde's drug dealers -
so I'm pretty sure I am right about this, and she staged this execution
as a "righteous shoot" in order to prevent Clyde's dealer from singing
like a canary or something!!... But, otherwise, the cops' "drug bust"
was successful. Chad and Everett go to interview Clyde in prison, and he
tries to goad Chad, but I think they got the better of Clyde when they
needled him about what a disaster the drug bust was for Clyde's
business!... Kristen tries to get Alex to work with her to keep Theresa
and Brady apart, and I think she convinced Alex to conspire with her.
The "morning after"(?!) with Abe, Paulina gets a call from the hospital
that her tumor has grown, and they've moved up her surgery to, like,
    tomorrow!

Wheel of Fortune - I hate this "superfan" tournament thing they're
doing, but one of Wed's contestant was like some kind of savant who was
solving puzzles with just 1 or 2 letters showing! But she didn't get the
final puzzle for the big money.

Then, while I figured out how I want to rebalance my IRA, I left
"Chicago Med" and half of "Chicago Fire" on in the background. Neither
was worth commenting on, though "Fire" had Canadian actress Kim Shaw as
    the guest star.

    Did you watch anything?...

    Yes I did.

The Secret Adventures of Jules Verne S1E05 The Cardinal's Revenge (2000)
    DVD-r disc
Part 2 of the Cardinal's time travel story. We pick up with Our Heroes
in the 1620s with the last of the Three Musketeers.... Well, apparently
two of the other three are still alive. All of Our Heroes have
doppelgangers in this alternative timeline but they still save King
    Louis from the Cardinal Richelieu.

The Secret Adventures of Jules Verne S1E06 The Eyes of Lazarus (2000)
    DVD-r disc
The first episode that IMDb has a summary for. The spirit of a former
agent turned anarchist, Lazarus, takes possession of Passepartout at a
seance for Passepartout's recently-deceased Aunt Louisa. Lazarus, who
died at the hands of Phileas, is intent on returning the favor. When Passepartout is thought mad and committed to an asylum, the spirit of
Lazarus passes to Rebecca. Can Lazarus be stopped before his evil plan
is accomplished? Help from an unsuspected quarter in the form of Aunt
Louise's spirit makes an appearance. Margot Kidder guests.

    I watched:

The Thief of Baghdad (TCM) 1940 fantasy adventure starring Sabu as
Aladdin, I mean Abu who with help from a genie saves his friend and a
princess from the evil Jaffar. This movie holds up ridiculously well
for a movie that was made in the 40s. Even the effects that are
obviously fake looking have a certain charm.

Jungle Book (TCM) 1942 movie starring Sabu as Mowgli, a young man who
was raised by wolves. I never saws this before and was more or less
expecting a live action version of the Disney movie, but this was a
completely different story. Instead of seeing Mowgli learning about the
bare necessities while living in the jungle he returns to his village
and struggles to live among other humans. Although it is a fantasy with talking animals. Some of the animal effects looked really fake. While
in The Thief of Baghdad the fakeness was charming, here it took me out
of the movie. Although I guess for less sophisticated audiences of the
40s it probably looked real to them.

Because we are expected to use our imaginations. For whatever reason,
I may find more modern special effects too distracting that it
interferes with my ability to suspend disbelief. It can also be easier
    to appreciate the artistry.

The 1942 movie has more Kipling in it than the Disney animation does. I
don't think I've seen this since I was a kid and barely remember it.

Hmmmm... I wonder if either of these are also available on Max.

I'm pretty sure I saw "The Thief of Baghdad" once, but it was probably
back when "AMC" was actually still "American Movie Classics", so that
would likely be 30 years ago or more. I've never seen the latter movie
    at all.

Yes. Thief of Bagdad is available on Max and Jungle Book is available
on several streaming services including Max and Amazon.

I've watched it a couple of times, but I have a hard time remembering
what happens in it. I think I have a tendency to conflate "Thief of
Bagdad" with "The 7th Voyage of Sinbad" but that's probably because
    Sinbad ripped off Bagdad.

I had a story about the first time I watched the thief of Baghdad, but I
think it must’ve been one of the remakes.
