From Ubiquitous@21:1/5 to All on Wed Feb 7 04:30:40 2024
    I watched:

ARGYLLE REVIEWS *SMASH* HENRY CAVILLS BOND MOVIE:
Argylle reviews are out and while the official trailer pitched a Henry Cavill James Bond espionage spy action movie. Directed by Matthew Vaughn and written by Jason Fuchs, the reality is very different. Henry Cavill, John Cena and
Dua Lipa are more imaginary bait for the audience. The real life follows
author Bryce Dallas Howard and Sam Rockwell on a twist filled journey across typical spy tropes. But is Argylle worth watching? https://youtu.be/-S_wGhwXhwY?si=_UTeG3MVkiL_o78z

    ARGYLLE (NON-SPOILER) | Film Threat Reviews: https://youtu.be/kxjnGvIDqQw?si=2Wamd2f7CTNzfugI

ARGYLLE (SPOILERS) | Film Threat Reviews: https://youtu.be/QKFf2YWWwNk?si=z_Lbp5ttrNWhb8ip

    VANDERPUMP RULES:
"Notes on a Scandal". In the season 11 premiere, Ariana puts on a brave face and attempts to rebuild her life after Tom’s infidelity, despite sharing a house with her ex-boyfriend. Tom Schwartz tries to make peace with his
friends, but discovers he’s still excommunicated from the group. James
settles into his new life of domestic bliss with Ally. Scheana opens up about her postpartum OCD diagnosis. Lala confides in Lisa Vanderpump about her regrettable treatment of a one-time nemesis, making a grand gesture that threatens to rock the boat with her friends.

TBH, I watched this last week and pretty much immediately forgot what
happened. I was bored and had no interest in them beating the dead horse
    called "Scandoval".

    VANDERPUMP RULES:
"The Ultimate Betrayal". Tom Sandoval returns to Los Angeles just in time for his birthday, however, his plans hit a snag when Ariana learns he wants to throw a party in their shared home.

Ariana and Sandoval need to grow up. Their living situation in the house reminds me of something from an old sitcom including recruiting someone to
pass messages between them. Speaking of which, is Ann profoundly stupid? For that matter, why the hell does he even need a personal assistant in the first place? Naturally, Arianna is going to be petty and refuse to allow him to
have a birthday party, even though it turns out she wasn't even going to
there! Oh, look! It's Billie the Thirsty Famewhore trying to horn in on every scene at the party! [eyeroll] Meanwhile, successful businesswoman Lisa Vanderbucks celebrates(?) the closing of Pump. On the other side of the
hills, DJ Muppet Baby considers dropping by Sandoval's party. What could possibly go wrong?

This is a two-day catch up.

    I watched:

Quantum Leap - "Off the Cuff" - Episode from last week. Ben leaps into
the body of a bounty hunter and has to transport an annoying criminal
with a heart of gold to prison while avoiding other criminals after the
    two Defiant Ones.

Night Court - "Wrath of Comic-Con" - season 2, episode 6. Maltz! Nuff
    said.

Law & Order - Over the past few days I watched the three L&O series most
recent episodes and finally finished them off.

The Equalizer - "The Eye for an Eye" - Season 3 season finale. I
finally got around to finishing the finale from last year. Team McCall
is hunted down in a really good "A" story. Meanwhile, in a clichéd "B"
story, McCall's daughter and mother are held hostage by a desperate gun
man with a heart of gold whose robbing a store because life dealt him a
    bad hand.

    Hey, thanks for asking!

I’ve been watching iSpy since it went away from my watchlist during the
great Groundhog Day Amazon shake up. Finished off the series.

A friend got me to watch the great RINGWORLD rip off HALO. I powered
through season one before season two begins tomorrow. They don’t even show the damn ring until the end of episode six and apparently it has a big hole
in the top of it like the arch in DEFIANCE. A lot of substandard effects
work, in physics and lighting and staging and just about everything. I have
no idea where the plot is going having not played the game. As usual, the Paramount+ stream stuttered installed constantly.

It dropped a day late again, but I watched MURDOCH MYSTERIES latest
episode. Murdoch and the gay cop go off in search of lost treasure, because
the gay cop just happens to be the last descendent of a guy who was given
the treasure map. They encounter the Canadian Indiana Jones prototype.
Since most of this is out in the wilderness, it’s very light on work for
the regulars. Stottlemeyer shows up briefly. I don’t think Mrs. Murdoch was even mentioned. Crabtree remains missing. The new coroner is there ever so briefly and she’s blowing up like the mayor on GOOD WITCH.

Apparently the firestick is listening in on my complaints as Amazon popped
up a notification across my phone screen which led me to the app trying to
get me to buy the Firecube. I thought it might be the improvement I’ve
been looking for, but it doesn’t really seem to be a step up in anything
    but price.

I found the handicap settings on the MacBook Air and now I can actually
    read the screen.

I can't bring myself to watch HALO. Too many bad comments about it,

I've been speed watching some old movies that I've seen before as I
try to sort through my collection of what I have watched and what I
have, but haven't yet watched. That's been EVAN ALMIGHTY where God
chooses a US congressman to save a number of people and animals by
building an A.R.K. (acts of random kindness.)

I also watched ASSAULT ON WALL STREET where in a man gets creamed by
the illegal actions of a Wall Street firm and decides to take revenge
on them after their efforts end up costing him his wife. So he plans
and then proceeds to take the lives of all that he holds responsible.

Then there was BRIGHT. The story an alien baby that crash lands on the
planet and is raised by a couple of good people. Only to find that
their foundling isn't such a good boy. Especially after he starts to
    develop super powers.

Then there was CONSTATINE - THE HOUSE OF MYSTERY, an animated movie
that I've seen a few times that delves into the origin of CONSTATINE
    and his focus on magic.

Also rewatched a bit of DIVERGENT, a movie where a lot happens that
makes little sense. The idea is that society has collapsed but there
is this one area that has stayed protected behind a wall. They've
divided into separate groups divided upon their focus and test people
on their 18th year to place them among a group. So there's a group
called Erudite that is focused on science, another called Dauntless
that is supposed to be the group that defends the city and other
    groups.

The Erudite think they should be in control instead of the Abnegation,
a group that lives a simple life and grows all the food the other
groups depend upon. The Erudite are shown to have advanced science and
yet it appears that the Abnegation group uses none of it to help grow
more food. Also the Erudite use their tech to take control of the
Dauntless group to take out the Abnegation group, but seem to believe
none of the other groups will care.

DODGEBALL - A TRUE UNDERDOG STORY - a tale of a group of nobodies who
come together to challenge the top dodge ball group. "If you can dodge
a wrench, you can dodge a ball."

GHOST RIDER - SPIRIT OF VENGEANCE
the second movie in the Ghost Rider story that doesn't have the same
feeling as the first movie. It's not horrible but while I would be
willing to rewatch the first movie I don't care about this.

RED NOTICE - This movie had a great set of actors that are let down by
a poor script. I did watch this to the end (partially for Gal Godot)
but it's not a movie I ever care to watch again. The story is based
around thieves attempting to steal three eggs made for Cleopatra.

THE NUMBERS STATION - a slow moving movie about a station located in
Ireland (I think) dedicated to reading out the numbers that go out to
radios in the area that provide a secure means of sending messages to
spies in the area. Not a bad movie but definitely not one if you are
    expecting an action flick.

Seems like a difference without a distinction. The lead character is
Master Chief. That being said, I can understand being upset if he never
takes his helmet off in the game since he rarely wheres it on the show.

It dropped a day late again, but I watched MURDOCH MYSTERIES latest
episode. Murdoch and the gay cop go off in search of lost treasure, because >> the gay cop just happens to be the last descendent of a guy who was given

Bruce Almighty is on my watch list. I didn't care all that much for it
when it first came out, but I want to pair it with the Man Who Could
Work Miracles since it's essentially a remake. Just from memory I
caught some direct references. I'm curious how much I'll catch if I can
watch them back to back. But I saw Evan Almighty once and once was enough.

I also watched ASSAULT ON WALL STREET where in a man gets creamed by

I think you mean "Brightburn." "Bright" is a Will Smith movie. But
also good and worth checking out if you haven't watched it.

the second movie in the Ghost Rider story that doesn't have the same
feeling as the first movie. It's not horrible but while I would be
willing to rewatch the first movie I don't care about this.

Yeah, it was like they were going to do a complete reboot with an all
new cast then somehow Cage came back and that plan was only partially
thrown out. It's one of those rare sequels that brings back the same
lead but ignores the first movie.

RED NOTICE - This movie had a great set of actors that are let down by

Master Chief. That being said, I can understand being upset if he never >takes his helmet off in the game since he rarely wheres it on the show.

It was one of the points I saw against the show as that was a major
point about the character. Apparently Disparu felt the producers were
making it more about the actor by showing his face all the time
instead of making it about the character. No idea how accurate that
take is as I haven't even sampled the show.

It dropped a day late again, but I watched MURDOCH MYSTERIES latest
episode. Murdoch and the gay cop go off in search of lost treasure, because >>> the gay cop just happens to be the last descendent of a guy who was given >>> the treasure map. They encounter the Canadian Indiana Jones prototype.
Since most of this is out in the wilderness, it’s very light on work for >>> the regulars. Stottlemeyer shows up briefly. I don’t think Mrs. Murdoch was

Bruce Almighty is on my watch list. I didn't care all that much for it
when it first came out, but I want to pair it with the Man Who Could
Work Miracles since it's essentially a remake. Just from memory I
caught some direct references. I'm curious how much I'll catch if I can >watch them back to back. But I saw Evan Almighty once and once was enough.

I saw BRUCE ALMIGHTY long ago and feel no need to watch it again.

I think you mean "Brightburn." "Bright" is a Will Smith movie. But
also good and worth checking out if you haven't watched it.

Yes, I meant BRIGHTBURN. I rewatched BRIGHT last month so both were on
    my mind.

This is on my watchlist for soon.

GHOST RIDER - SPIRIT OF VENGEANCE
the second movie in the Ghost Rider story that doesn't have the same
feeling as the first movie. It's not horrible but while I would be
willing to rewatch the first movie I don't care about this.

Yeah, it was like they were going to do a complete reboot with an all
new cast then somehow Cage came back and that plan was only partially
thrown out. It's one of those rare sequels that brings back the same
lead but ignores the first movie.

RED NOTICE - This movie had a great set of actors that are let down by
a poor script.

    What did you watch?

    Wasn't that a movie from the 1980's?

I can't bring myself to watch HALO. Too many bad comments about it,
plus the way they changed things from the games. One thing I see
consistently brought up is how they made the show about the actor they
chose to play the lead role while in the games it's all about the
character of Master Chief and not so much the person inside the suit.

He’s out of the suit more often than he’s in it. I am sort of confused about the suits, as the opening credits seem to imply that it grows out of
him, but he just takes it off like it was, you know, a suit. Of course,
when he is in the suit, he’s usually bad CGI.

I just watched the season two opener. They replaced both show runners and
more. The first episode is a completely incoherent mess but at least it’s
all shot in fog with a green filter so you can’t see what’s happening. I am not sure I’ll bother with episode two
