The hosts of ABC’s “The View” got into a heated debate on Tuesday,
complaining about a weekend interview with former New Jersey Republican Governor Chris Christie and his claim that 81-year-old President Joe Biden is “past his sell-by date.”

Whoopi Goldberg opened the discussion with a clip of Christie’s conversation with ABC host George Stephanopoulos.

“Oh, my goodness gracious … What are you talking about? He kicked butt a
couple of days ago. He did better than you-know-who did,” Goldberg said, claiming that Biden had done better than former President Donald Trump in
South Carolina’s primary even though the Republican primary has not yet taken place.

Sunny Hostin followed Goldberg, claiming that Republicans had no grounds to criticize Biden: “You know, I do not like when Republicans tell Democrats
what they need to do in their house.”

She then proceeded to lecture Republicans on what they needed to do in their house, namely “sweep their Trump trash.”

The conversation continued, and Goldberg and Hostin resorted to scolding the others and saying that everyone should just deal with the fact that Biden
would be the Democratic nominee in 2024.

“There isn’t going to be another candidate! The candidate is Joe Biden!”
Hostin insisted, to which Goldberg replied, “Suck it up!”

Co-host Sara Haines pushed back a little, saying that Democrats would be wise to listen to some of the criticisms of Biden because everyday Americans were making some of the same points — but Hostin continued to object.

Citing a recent national poll that showed Biden beating Trump, Hostin argued that 2024 would inevitably be a repeat of the 2020 election. Recent swing
state polls tell a different story, however — and the latest NBC News poll showed Biden with just 37% job approval. In that same NBC poll, voters indicated they were more likely to trust Trump with the American economy than Biden.
