Always used to buy it here without problems. Now none is available
and we hear that C & B was sold to a US company who are not going to
make it anymore. Any info on that in the UK, or are they selling us a
    line here?

It was sold in 2002, apparently. Owned partly J.M Smucker in the US, Princes in Europe and Tiger in South Africa.

Maybe Smuckers aren't going to mak it in North America, but I haven't sen any suggestion we are losing their stuff.

Maybe it doesn't sell in the US but the woman I asked in my store says
she is tired of breaking the news to customers and they are sorry they
    won't get anymore.

My daughter was emailing with a Smuckers rep who told her they are
using up their stocks in the UK and then you won't get anymore
either!! So if you use it, stock up lol

I can't help but feel, if they stop selling Branston pickle ( and Branston baked
beans ) in particular, here could be trouble! But they seem to be made by the Princes part of the ownership. As indeed do their soups, which are made here.

What is it in particular you used to get?

Mint sauce, Branston pickles and Mincemeat (couldn't be bothered to
make it from scratch these last few years) My daughter was told
    Branston and Mincemeat would continue.

I buy the mincemeat early in October, open, flood with rum, put away
    until December :)

Interesting, I don't think I have ever seen their mint sauce, or noticed if they
sell mincemeat here either. Mint sauce, I don't much like it, but mr kat does, I think the last lot I got was Colman's ( Grown in Norfolk they boast, not far from me). Mincemeat I tend to go for the supermarket's own brand. Last year I got a fancy boozy one to make mince pies for us two as no-one was coming here and I didn't need quite so many. But I also got into stock a large jar of the cheaper sort - Tesco's in this case - which can be "fed" for next year. ;-)

But the Branston beans and the pickle - get them a lot!
