• 7/4 - TCM screws up and shows two good movies from the '80s in a row

Great Balls of Fire! (1989) - TCM said this was the first time they'd
ever shown this on their network, wonder how they never got to it until
now. I saw it in the theater back in '89 when I probably didn't know who
the hell Winona Ryder was. I've probably seen it a time or two on cable
since then but it must have been on AMC or TBS or something. Alec
Baldwin must have jumped at the chance to sink his liberal chops into
the Rev. Jimmy Swaggart role. Director Jim McBride also directed some
episodes of the great The Wonder Years TV series in the '90s.

Mystery Train (1989) - I've also seen this once or twice in the past, an endearing three-part movie that has some kind of connection to Elvis,
and a run down Memphis hotel. I own Jim Jarmusch's Broken Flowers and
Dead Man on DVD and this one holds up to both of them (Dead Man is just
    kind of weird IMO).
