• The Killing of a Sacred Deer (2017)

Anybody else see this dreadful piece of garbage?

The film got very positive reviews, but I think that says more about
the reviewers than the film. Called the best horror film of the year.

Something about the acting. To me is was not "real". Sounded as if
they were reading from cue cards.

    Anybody else?

Maybe Lanthimos is a deliberately acquired taste...

    ----------------
Successful cardiologist Colin Farrell befriends the teenage son of a
former patient, bringing him home to wife Nicole Kidman and their two
kids. Yorgos Lanthimos (THE LOBSTER) directs and co-writes THE KILLING
OF A SACRED DEER, another quietly surreal and horrific domestic drama
aimed to discomfit the viewer. No doubt about it, the guy has a knack.
Unless you're averse to this sort of thing, it's well recommended. ----------------
