Strut channel is a common structural component used in vehicles, boats, and other structures. Depending on the purpose of your vehicle, strut channel can be a single piece or pieces combined in different configurations. The basic form of a stit is a box
that measures 1 5/8 inches in length and 1 inch wide, and it is available in various sizes, profile heights, and combined shapes. The following table lists the most popular sizing options and their dimensions.
The basic strut channel comes in a standard 1 5/8-inch-by-1-1/2-inch square cross section. It can also be found in a half-height version that is 1 5/8-inches wide and 13/16 inches tall (41x21 mm). This strut channel is used for mounting directly to the
wall and does not have as much stiffness as the full-height version.
The most popular strut channel sizes are one-and-a-half-inch wide and 13/16 inches tall. They are typically made of 12 or 14-gauge sheet metal and are available in various thicknesses. You can choose from solid and punched channels with different hole
patterns. Solid channels have no predrilled holes. Punched strut channels have round holes on regular one-and-a-half-inch centers. Slotted strut channels feature rectangular slots that are 2-7/16 inches in width and are available in a 4" depth.
