All that audiences knew was that this was going
to be a first-rate high quality movie because it had
the Hitchcock brand on it, and it surpassed all
expectations. Maybe 'Vertigo' was the greatest
one, but a case could easily be made for the
flawless 'Rear Window' instead. No need to describe
it because everybody knows it, as 'must see' a classic
    as any movie ever made.

This DVD (from Netflix) is of a gorgeous restoration
in proper aspect ratio, and it includes a couple of
worthy extra features. Who knew that Peter
Bogdanovich could do such an excellent Hitchcock
    impression, by the way.
