About the music. I heard a cd of the score Alex North wrote for the
film and I'm glad Kubrick didn't use it. His selections worked in
context of the film, although I'd heard a lot of the music before the
film. But in 2001 and The Shining I was introduced to Penderecki and
Ligeti and for that I'm indebted to Kubrick. What
was Kubrick's (IMO, wise) decision not to
use AN's score?
