She was born in Bristol, England and was married to Colin Blakely for 26 years until his death in 1987.
Not to be confused with the Detroit-born actress-singer (1924-2011) whose father was composer Richard A. Whiting - but Rotten Tomatoes makes that mistake!

Most of her work was on TV. That included "Rumpole of the Bailey" (1991), "The Secret Garden" (1987) and "Jury" (1983).
There was more than one poster for "Sinbad" when it came out, but this is likely the most famous one:

While she was certainly old enough in 1977 to be playing the role of a mother of an adult son, I found out that her costar in "Sinbad" - Patrick Wayne, son of John - was only six years younger. In other words, he was almost 40. Somehow, I would have
expected the filmmakers to pick someone younger than that for Sinbad!
Btw, the movie is rated G - but it's very violent and NOT suitable for, say, 5-year-olds. I found out that back then, "G" didn't necessarily mean "tame enough for kids under 7." That adjustment came later. In the same vein, "Jesus Christ Superstar" (1973)
was also rated G, and we all know how violent that was - especially Judas' last scene.
