Also, is it likely that Twitter will eventually succeed in blocking
people without Twitter accounts from viewing Twitter in Firefox and
all other browsers, given their apparent hostility to everyone outside
their walled garden? Thanks.

They're also hostile to everyone inside. They'll reach their goal
when they've prevented anyone without an account from accessing
Twitter and they've suspended everyone with an account.

Thus eliminating themself from existence?
Sounds like a plan.

Penzey's is using that method, having launched a campaign to
make sure no Republican will ever buy from them.

Along with any other sane, rational person, unless it is your
contention that *only* Republicans are sane and rational.

Never heard of them. (Penzey's, not Republicans.) Are they an
East-Coast chain?

I have to keep reminding myself that there are *any* Republicans
who are sane and logical.
McCain was; there are some Senators
from northern States, and Romney seems to be heading in the
proper (didn't want to say "right") direction.

I don't think so; they want people outside the garden to see enough
to want to continue seeing it. They also want the experience outside
the garden to be uncomfortable enough to convince people to come in.
I wonder how long until they block this. Is there some permanent fix
that they can't work around? Thanks.

As of today, for my Firefox configuration, using a "Private Window"

that will last.

using a "Private Window"?
I ask because I never get the popups while viewing a thread, but only
when viewing a person's whole feed, for more than about two minutes.
For the sake of specificity I will nominate https://twitter.com/RadleyBalko as a test case.
